Akeem didn't think much of his gesture. Instead of jut waiting there like an idiot, he did something, mainly call her a cab. If she didn't want it anyway, he could still take it to head back to his place. He intended to stay a little longer with his parents, but he could just leave too, it was not like he was obligated to anything here.
Someone was already cleaning the table they used. It wasn't likely to be used again, except perhaps by Akeem's father at the end of the evening. But you couldn't leave a table like this, even one that was in the kitchen. He left the place, taking Casey with him to allow more room to everyone in the kitchen. And to get some fresh air. That would also be a lot easier to spot her ride.
"Kind of funny though. We're going to play lovers again if that works out. That'll start to become a trend." He chuckled at this. He wasn't thinking much more than this, but the thought did cross his mind and he thought it was funny. Then again, just te fact they worked together before would make it some nice anecdote, regardless of their characters' relationship. "You're not meant to play with my heart and break it in that one though."

Casey was letting others cleaning the table again and letting them do their other chores too. She knew what a job was and they all had their crazy schedules. They seemed to enjoy working in his father’s restaurant so it was a plus because she honestly couldn’t see herself doing something that she did not like. It was why she was doing that job and getting back into the business despite the death of her lover. She had to move on and she hoped that Franck wouldn’t be too upset to know that she was sometimes still thinking of it even when she was spending time with Akeem. Didn’t mean she was seeing this as a date though, she was only rooting for him as it was something worthy to celebrate. She knew how it was to launch a career like this. They gave her good memories.
She laughed a bit as he referred to them playing lovers again. “Proof that I don’t mind it.” She said with a smile though she wasn’t intending to flirt with him right now. She enjoyed working with him though. “That’s good because the last project was too short.” She liked getting along with the people she was working with. Who didn’t anyways? They were now both outside and she enjoyed the feeling of the fresh air on her face. “Thanks for keeping me company by the way.” She added as she referred to while they were waiting for the cab.

Not everyone was up to playing lovers. Sometimes, the chemistry was not there at all and impossible to fake. Others were just uncomfortable with what it may implied. Akeem never understood those who'd refuse to kiss another person, since it was part of the job, but he could understand how daunting it could be the first few times. You did have to fake intimacy with a person in front of a lot of people, knowing that even more of them would watch, judge and talk about it. You had to do it well.
"And I think we can have some good chemistry. On-screen, I mean." He didn't want her to think he was flirting. He wanted someone who could play the part and work well with him. After all, that role used to be played by someone else, a friend, and he wanted the same level of chemistry at the very least. It had to work for people to buy it if he wanted to sell a remake of the first season and get his at least two other seasons going on.
He laughed at the reference of their previous work. Was it just earlier today? It seemed like a lifetime ago. "Of course," he replied after she thanked him. "I needed some fresh air too anyway, before I head back as well." If he didn't want him around until her cab arrived, he'd leave but he still wanted to be a gentleman here and make sure she'd at least get on the cab safely.

Casey had to agree with Akeem; they had worked well on screen and some people even started talking about them and saying that they looked good together. It was pleasing to hear, knowing that you had the skills to convince people you could be in relationships. It was also rather ironic to her that she could fake that while she still had trouble with her personal life because of the boyfriend she lost. “You’re right, we do.” She said, not thinking that he was trying to hit on her or flirt with her there.
“Thanks.” She said softly as she was ready to head out. She made sure to thank his father for the delicious meal they had cooked for her. She didn’t want to use her fame to get free passes on everything. She was still modest as she worked hard too to get where she was now. People didn’t often realize just how much worked it took to become famous and be a triple threat.
