Beatrice knew that it could be worse, but she didn’t want to think about it. Besides, she knew that Kai did this for her to have fun. He didn’t need to but she thought that it would be hard to convince him that he didn’t have to and could have used his money for something more useful for him. She tried not to think about it either. Nobody ever did such a thing to her and it touched her a little.
It wasn’t going to be enough to ease her worries though, she’d have to start being into the shoot before starting to enjoy herself within it. “I know but I can’t help it.” She was shyer than Kai and she didn’t think that he would understand that trait of personality of hers. He was outspoken, and literally her opposite in every way. She just needed to have blonde hair and they’d really be the contrary.
“I will, thanks.” She said with a bit more confidence but still was uncertain about it. She followed the photographer where he wanted her to be and then nodded before posing like the man wanted her to. She didn’t know how the shoot would turn like but the more she posed, the more comfortable she was at it and even started enjoying herself and smiled, blushing at the photographer.

It was a shame that Beatrice gave up after... after what exactly? One bad experience, or did her parents crush the will to try in her even before that? Either way, he wanted her to see just how beautiful she was through this photo shoot. He could have made for a more playful set but he didn’t think it suited her so well. AS the stylist said, she was more of an ethereal beauty. He couldn’t say he did that look himself too much but definitely more than the catalogue look a playful shoot could end up looking like.
Kai thought she was not the first shy model. There were more introverts in that business than people thought. She just needed to calm down and follow the photographer. Kai could offer her some more tips but he didn’t want to say too much in advance, as it might just have the opposite effect with her over thinking everything. He was also ready to jump in if necessary, but that too he didn’t think it was all that necessary. He was certain she would freeze even more anyway, intimidated about having a professional next to her. Or a man for that matter.
He did whisper at the photographer to go easy on her because she was nervous. They would start things slowly and, with a bit of luck, it would go well. After a while, she needed less directives and Kai grinned. “That’s great, Bea,” he told her. He didn’t think he could cut her off her focus with his comment. He’d let her see the result for herself once the shoot would be over. He smiled, amused when she seemed to be blushing as she started having fun. It was kind of cute though. Probably not a professional would want, but he was not looking for that and he liked it. He made sure to save this picture to show her, even if he knew that would make her blush even more. Perhaps it was why he did it in fact.

Beatrice was glad that they didn’t go too overboard with this photo shoot because she didn’t think she’d be comfortable enough if she was to go through that. She had agreed to use a dress for this one, after all, it was a photo shoot and she wasn’t just going to wear plain clothes. She was taking baby steps towards having fun and enjoying herself but she would get there, eventually…hopefully.
She then was taking the shoots with the photographer’s help and directives and didn’t think it was too bad. She was even feeling a bit better after that. She really started thinking she was a bit too stuck up for that job and was probably better off as a makeup artist, but she kept that thought to herself. He was only being nice to her and she would try to enjoy herself and have fun at least a little.
They called it for a break and she nodded, wondering about if they would want a change of clothes. She wouldn’t mind going for another dress. It could be fun too.

There were times Kai could see Beatrice had been over thinking in her pictures. She was doubting herself for sure, but she sometimes made it well. She still didn't fully let go. She was not twirling around like some elvish creature that would vanish with the morning dew, or whatever metaphor people used to talk of this kind of look, or looking all mysterious. She needed to trust herself a little more, but he could see her getting a bit more comfortable.
"Come over here, watch this," he said as he waved for her to come over to the computer in front of which he was sitting. The photographer also came over. They could try another outfit but he wanted her to see her pictures first, understand what this was all about.
"I really love this one. Hey, we need to make more beauty shots, look at her face," he told the photographer as he went through some of the pictures. Since they had been focusing mostly on her full body, they didn't have a lot of closeups. Kai could still do it with the tools but he still thought there was a need for beauty shots in her case. Her eyes just called for those pictures. "What do you think?" he said as he looked towards Beatrice.

Beatrice knew that she wasn’t going to be a professional and still was intimidated by the camera but she thought that she was doing better as time passed by. She didn’t think she would ever become a model like the girls she had been doing the makeup for but it was nice and strange to have the attention on her like this. She was used to be in her corner without speaking her mind and getting people’s attention in such a way was strange to her.
She joined Kai when he waved for her to come and watched at the pictures. She smiled a bit at that and nodded. “They look nice.” She admitted at last. She never thought she could be presentable on a shoot. It’s not like she ever tried though.
She blushed when he commented her face but she had to admit that it was a pretty picture. She wondered about if she was allowed to keep them but she would understand if not. She nodded at his question and smiled again. “I like it.” She said.

This experience was not to show Beatrice how harder than it looks the job of model was. She had to know it since she was working in that industry. He didn't necessarily want her to go after her dream again either. She gave up on it. If she wanted to try it again after this, it would be great What he really wanted was for her to stop underestimating herself and trust in herself a little bit more. And get that she was beautiful.
He laughed at her only comment about her pictures. "That's all ou have to say?" he teased her. Not that he should have expected anything less. "How did it feel in front of the camera?" he asked her. He knew she had been nervous the whole time before since he showed her what he had for her, he was curious to hear how it was after her experience. Not that it would be over, as he told the photographer, he thought they could make more beauty shots of her.
He looked at the picture she liked. "I like it too," he admitted. He then turned again at the photographer. "We need beauty shots or else you need to do a closeup with this one. I've a mind of hanging it on a wall." It definitely deserved it.

Beatrice didn’t know what else she was supposed to say about the pictures. They were nice, and she thought they made her look good too but it was just a photo shoot. She didn’t think as far as she was pretty. The pictures were to her, but it wasn’t because of her beauty but because of the photographer’s talent in the end.
She shrugged at him and smiled a bit knowing that he was mostly teasing her. “It was nice.” She admitted to him. Even if it was stressful to her she did enjoy herself in there and posing. They then focused on the pictures. She was glad that he agreed with her choice too.
She then looked at him when he talked about the beauty shots. “You think?” She asked as she looked back at the picture.

Yes, the pictures were nice, she was right to say that. He still expected her to have a little more vocabulary when it came to commenting her pictures. "How often you had the chance to get your pictures taken by a professional in such a way? Be a little more enthusiastic about it," he teased her with a grin. At least she didn't say she never thought she looked like that, although he wouldn't be surprised if she said that. He knew how surprising it could be the first time you saw your picture like that.
He chuckled when she conceded that the photoshoot was nice. "I'm glad you enjoyed it." He really was. "You think about trying it more often or that one time was enough for you?" She gave up on that dream before but he didn't push her enough to know the details of what happened or how far she went before she ended this. All he understood was that her parents were involved, destroying whatever little confidence she had before.
He laughed again at her question. Did she just realise he said he would hang it on a wall? Probably not, because he expected her to freak out at the idea of him hanging a portrait of her on his wall. "Of course. I told you, those eyes can sell anything," he told her, the photographer agreeing with him on that one.

Even if she knew that she should have a blast at such a time, she had to admit that she wasn’t able to fully let loose. She wasn’t like that and tended to be more poised. She hardly showed excess of happiness or sadness. It was just not her in a sense, it was why that hers and Kai’s personality tended to clash. Not that they would argue, they just didn’t see things the same way. She had trouble opening up and expressing herself more openly. “The photographer is very talented though.” She added and smiled a little at Kai’s teasing. She couldn’t blame him; he was trying to comfort her and it was a hard task to do. Especially when she felt very insecure.
She shrugged at his question. “I don’t know honestly.” She admitted. “It was a dream back them but I don’t know if I would go back to it.” She had seen what she would have to go through if she wanted to be a model. While it wasn’t the most valuable job to be proud of, she did like putting make up on people’s face; it was an art so to speak after all.
She looked at her pictures again and nodded, agreeing with the fact that her eyes were probably her best feature. “Thanks.” She said with a small smile. It was true that the photographer had managed to enhance her eyes.

Kai smiled as she complimented the photographer. “He is. And he knows his job well, so you should trust him. He won’t make you do anything you’re not comfortable with. I know you’re not the bubbly type, that’s why we’re not trying to do that... But I guess asking you to be some fairy or something like that will just confuse you, right?” He chuckled. Sometimes, you could get some pretty weird suggestions.
He looked at her as she admitted she didn’t know. She was opening up to him here, he was well aware of it. “Hm... well, modeling is probably one of the shortest-lived career. You never know when they’ll find you too old for it. Not to add how they love casting all those internet sensations these days...” How someone whose only experience was to be an expert at selfies could really be considered a professional model, doing runways and having their names more known than the best of models walking with them, he didn’t get it and it was a bit of a shame, really. Good thing people cared more about the female models, it gave him a bit less competition.
He noticed her smile and that made him grin. “Now that,s a smile. Why don’t you show it more, you’ve got every reason to be proud of yourself here. Tell you what, why don’t you look at your picture and we can print for you all those you like,” he said, moving from his seat in front of the computer to let her sit and go through her pictures.

[bockquote] Beatrice looked at the pictures that they had taken so far and thought that she looked good in these. She had never had the chance to be a model so it was new to her, not to add that her lack of self-confidence didn’t help in the matter. Being a fairy? She didn’t even know how to be a fairy. “It would be a bit weird.” She admitted when he asked her about it. “But I guess I can try…” She added, not minding while doing that. She knew that sometimes, being a model required some minimum acting skills.
“Indeed and I like my job.” She added with a small smile. While she had wished to become a model, being a makeup artist wasn’t too bad either. She was still in that field and it was her own decision, which made her want to stick with her choice more than doing something that her parents had asked her to.
She then blushed a bit as he encouraged her to show her smile to the camera and then back at the picture. “We can?” She asked him. She still was thinking about the cost of this without telling him directly about it.

How much did Beatrice listen to photographers' suggestions while waiting in case the models needed retouch? He didn't know and it was not like he had been present at every work she had been on, far from it. They both knew women had more work than men in that industry. He laughed. He could understand how weird that felt to be asked stuff like that. "The things they can ask sometimes, right?" he said with a laugh. He shook his head. "I know it sometimes sound weird but it's a certain atmosphere they want. I guess fairy in this case would mean, imagine you are some pretty, tentalizing being that could vanish in an instant if people get too close. If that helps..." He was not sure it would. She may just end up looking scared.
Kai could say modelling needed some acting skills indeed. It was why he transitioned to television and wouldn't be against playing in shows or movies at some point. He was already a host and he thought he was doing a good job. He was certainly entertaining and popular enough for them to keep him, so it was a good thing. But modelling was still what got him famous and he still liked it. He wouldn't give it all up until he felt that it was the time to do that. "Do you find it easier or harder than you imagined?"
He laughed at her surprised. "Of course! Why do you think I set this all up? You're going to walk away from here with enough pictures for a portfolio if you want one. Or new portraits to hang on your walls."

Beatrice did listen to what the photographers said to the models not only because she was interested about it. She also was able to know where she needed to pay attention in terms of makeup and where she needed to do some retouching work. She laughed a bit too as she thought of what they could say and nodded. “Indeed.” She said with a smile. “It sounds weird, but I’ll try.” She added. It could be doable, after all, she tended to shy away from people so it was something she could pull off…hopefully.
“Harder, I never really posed seriously.” She did pose for family pictures but they didn’t let her pose like a model. She was simply taking part of the picture so they would have their yearly shot. It had been a tradition but she wondered about if they would keep doing it since she was getting more and more annoyed by them.
“Thanks, though I don’t really hang portraits of myself on walls.” She admitted with a small smile.

Kai figured that, as a makeup artist, she had to listen a bit to the photographer too, should he want more makeup or some change done on the models, but he had no idea if Beatrice listened when the orders were given to other people. Maybe, because she admitted she wished to become a model once. "You know, you were inspired to become a makeup artist, because I think you have the face for that," he said as he looked into her eyes. Those were definitely made to sell mascara and eyeshadow. "You think we can make beauty shots too?" he asked the photographer, turning his gaze towards the man. He already pictured a portrait of her by the vanity in his walk-in closet.
He turned his attention back at her when she talked to him. "It's true that it's a little more than posing for a selfie," he admitted. "At the same time, many models now are of that type. They hire them because people follow them on social media, but they don't always have what it takes. They don't get the effort and work it takes to go through fashion week or to act like a proper spokesperson." Not that he feared Beatrice wouldn't know how to behave. It might actually be the opposite, she'd be too shy at times. As for the strength... she did look a little frail, then again so many models looked even thinner than she was so who knows.
He chuckled. He had a few portraits of himself at his home, but they were small and discreet... well, except for the big portrait in the closet but that was not one everyone could look at. "Then you won't mind I do, right?" he had an amused smile as he said that, waiting for a reaction.

While Beatrice thought it was a sweet gesture from Kai to set that up for her, she still didn’t think it was her place to pose. It was all too weird, especially when her parents were partly responsible to her dreams that were crushed. She was barely able to stand up to them, Kai assisted to that and while she had always wanted to become a model, she didn’t think she was good enough to be one. She didn’t even think that she was pretty, or at least, not as pretty as the models were. She caught his gaze and blushed a bit before looking down, unable to face him and being a little embarrassed. She would oblige to whatever picture he would want her to take though, he was doing this for her and she had to take that in consideration. She didn’t want to let him down! Not after all the money he might have spent on it. He truly didn’t need to spoil her like that.
Kai was right when he talked of models and she thought that they were wrong to think that. “It’s a lot more of work than what they could think.” She agreed; she knew what she had wanted and while she wasn’t sure she had the drive and the guts to be one, she knew what she would’ve signed for if she had the confidence for it.
She frowned at him as he talked of her portrait. “It’d be a little strange…” She said, playing with her hands a little.
