Issy didn’t want to admit that Lindsey had a voice. It seemed that he was on her side because he had worked for her. She wondered about if that girl was as friendly as she pretended to be when she wasn’t performing or at work and on a stage. Sometimes, people could be quite surprised and disappointed by the celebrities’ behavior. It really hit her in the guts though, since she didn’t think that she had the right appeal to become famous and it was what was holding her back. Sure, she had a pretty face, but her body wasn’t as convincing for sells, apparently. She was too slim and had little to no curves.
She nodded slowly at David’s words and was ready to hit the bar. She needed a drink…or two, depending on how her mood was driving her. It was stupid to be jealous over your best friend getting attention or to work with pretty girls. She didn’t know why it was still getting on her nerves. She didn’t think she liked David more than that.
They made it to the bar and smirked a bit at him. “Or two, it will depend of my wallet.” Sure, she had money but sometimes, alcohol was expensive when you went out for a drink.

David was aware that he probably annoyed Isabella here by praising Lindsey. She was gorgeous, that was true, but he didn't think he fell under her charm. He also didn't mind her music when it played on the radio but didn't exactly own any of her albums. It was not exactly his style. And he had not really took the time to speak with her or get to know her while working. It was a gig, nothing more. She could have been anyone else it would have been the same to him. He couldn't say he really knew who Lindsey Bates was, even after spending hours making sure the light hit her well.
While he knew that didn't take him away from the friendzone, seeing Issy jealous made him feel good. She didn't like him being attracted to pretty girls. But it could also just be that she was jeaous of Lindsey for having a career she was going after herself. David preferred to think it was because he was looking at someone else. "She loves wearing tight outfits too, the revealing kind," he said. He knew it was dangerous to go there, her temper could flare at any moment. He shrugged. "Maybe a little too much too but I suppose when you look like that, you must love showing it off." David was not exactly the type to take his shirt off at any occasion or wear tight-fitting clothes. He was not fat by any means but he was always embarrassed in that type of outfit. Plus he probably had too much body hair for some people.
He smirked as she hinted she might just get two drinks. He was certain she could manage two drinks, as long as she was not going for the super expensive brands. As for himself, he intended to get food the minute they would have a table. Or at the counter. He really didn't care. As long as he could eat something.

There were times where Issy couldn’t help but compare herself to people like Casey or girls like Lindsey. She knew that she was as flat as a plank and sometimes was looking down on herself for that. She didn’t say these to David though. She knew that she was more on the tomboy side but there were times where she knew she was a girl and David a guy and compared herself to the other women around. It was silly, since they were mostly friends but she couldn’t help it.
She scowled when he said the kind of clothes she was wearing. “And lingerie and doing half naked photo shoots.” She added rolling her eyes. Why on earth were people always selling their bodies to go where they wanted? She had too much pride to go as low as that! She would never understand that industry. In a way, maybe she was better doing the job she had, so she wouldn’t have to go through all these things and preserve herself. She had to give it a thought because she didn’t want to be known because she had a nice ass.
She wanted to get in the bar and have a table already. It would be nicer than thinking about Lindsey Bates.

David clearly didn’t think of Issy as ‘one of the boys’. That would make him gay, which he was not. Well, he supposed that wouldn’t really, but that would certainly open the door to jokes implying he was, and those were crueller on Issy than him so he would not have that. She knew what she looked like, hell he grew up with her, saw her develop into the woman she was. If she was a tomboy, to him it was more through her attitude than her look. He didn’t think you needed huge breasts to be feminine. He just couldn’t picture his friend batting her eyelashes flirtatiously while giving a princess-like smile to guys. That would be too weird.
“She had that many of those?” David remembered some revealing outfits and stuff that really showed she had all the right curves at all the right places but he apparently missed on the half-naked photo shoots. He shrugged. “It’s clear what she’s selling to people.” Were they really at an age where the celebrities were the ones who showed the most skin? Looking up at the Kadarshians, he thought yes. He nearly winced at that, thinking it might just make it tougher on Issy. Although he was sure a lot of people wouldn’t mind watching her half-naked too. But he wouldn’t want to be the one who’d suggest it to her, nor would he let her should she end up thinking this was the only way for her to have a career. If it was, it was not worth. He didn’t want his best friend to become nothing but an eye candy.
At the bar, he ordered some food along with a beer for himself. It was just a club sandwich with some fries but hungry as he was, it couldn’t come soon enough. Maybe it was why he picked the first thing his eyes fell upon that he thought wouldn’t take long to make. “Is there a particular reason for you to want to try to bar or you just wanted to go someplace new?”

In Issy’s opinion, having two was already too much for her to have revealing outfits. It seemed that being a good pop star required having a good body. At least, the ones like Lindsey. She wanted that video clip to be done already so she wouldn’t have to hear from that girl anymore. There was nothing interesting about her since she was just another Hollywood face that you might just want to forget, at least, in her opinion but it clearly wouldn’t be the male’s opinions.
If it was what it took to become famous, Issy thought that she was better to keep her job at the recording studio. She preferred working on their music and let’s face it, sometimes it was good on her ego to blast some of their horrible stuff that she was hearing sometimes. “Indeed and I don’t want to be part of this if it’s what I got to do.” Casey was lucky because of her parents, because she doubted that she would have made it if only for her vocal talents. She didn’t want to sound mean to her cousin but Hollywood was really cruel to you.
When they were at the bar she asked for a homemade beer and nachos because it was a good combo. “Just wanted to try it.” She said to him. She liked going to different spots and test their beer and alcohol once in a while.

David didn't really mind the video. It was his job and he tried not to pay too much attention to what was going on in front of the camera. Since he didn't have the right to reveal anything, not unless he still wanted to work, he figured just focusing on his job without thinking about what was going on was better. Besides, he didn't want to look at the girls in revealing outfits shown to him. He didn't want to join in with the raunchy comments the other guys said. His focus was on one girl only. Plus he doubted he had a single chance with them, let alone Lindsey. She probably ate guys like him for breakfast every morning.
He stared at her. He enjoyed seeing her jealous of Lindsey being around him but he didn't like hearing this. This was different, it was about her. "Not all singers need to be half-naked to become famous and you will too," he assured her. His tone became a lot more serious as he said that, since it was a serious matter unlike the teasing he did just to get a reaction out of her.
Her nachos still managed to arrive before his club sandwich, along their beer. He stole one from the basket. "It does look nice," he agreed. Crowded, as expected, but not too much. It was not too loud they couldn't hear each other.

Issy was a bit skeptical about the fact she would become famous. Fame wasn’t what attracted her though, she wanted to play music for people and live off her passion. It just seemed that she was too thin and too plain for people’s taste so therefore, she wouldn’t be able to get recognized for her talent. Even in the genre she was going for, which was more rock and heavy than Casey’s style which was to everyone’s liking.
“Yeah, right.” She said, sighing a bit. She couldn’t help but think about it. If she looked like Lindsey, would she become as famous as she was? Probably and that truth hurt a lot. She tried to focus onto the beer that she had just gotten now. It was better than worrying about all of this now. And she had a job, one that wasn’t as nice as playing music but she was still mixing music together.
“It’s a good place and not one that is too crowded. I don’t like it when I can’t hear what people say.” He admitted.

David knew his friend enough by now to see how that affected her. He knew she wanted to become a singer since... forever, it seemed. He always supported her, even if as a kid the support was to say she would make his ears bleed with her voice. Even then, he knew he wanted his friend to succeed. And now she looked down, not because she had no talent, but because she thought it was more of a beauty contest and she was failing. He could joke and say he wouldn’t mind seeing her wearing next to nothing on a stage but even if that would earn him a nudge and perhaps a little smile, he knew she would think he was right, so he restrained from joking here. “Come on, Issy. You’re good. We all know that. No one needs to change your voice digitally or make your music louder for it to be appealing.” Issy told him a lot about the various tricks they had to perform in order to create the next ‘hit’. While he may not always have looked as though he listened, he really did.
She talked of the bar instead. “You ever thought performing in bars like this one? It’s no big contract but at least you’ll be doing your stuff,” There had to be bars still offering live performances, right? He didn’t know how it worked, if she had to do an audition or ending up paying if not enough people showed up but maybe it would lift up her mood. It was that or karaoke, and David would rather die than sing in front of people. Or sing at all. He was terrible at it.

Isabella always hated being compared to others, being told that she was too slim for the kind of job she wanted. The problem was that she didn’t want to become a pop princess, she wanted to rock the house and apparently you needed curves to be like that too. She also didn’t want to be taken because she was part of Casey’s family. There were a lot of Williams, she could always excuse herself and claim they weren’t cousins or related but she was convinced that it would only hold her back from having what she wanted. “Perhaps, but they don’t seem to realize it.” She said while looking down. At least, she was working at a recording studio and it was close to what she wanted to do.
She pondered about his suggestion and shook her head. “I haven’t.” She admitted. It might be a chance for her to start her work. But could she manage it while working full time? She wondered.

David didn't have as much pressure with his work. He was not asked to look a certain way or to change his personality, only to do his job without disturbing that of others or being too much of a fanboy. He had a passion for photography but unlike Isabella, he didn't think of making a career in it. There were other lines of work in the entertainment industry that his passion could take him, cameraman, photographer, director of cinematography... but he was fine with the job he had right now. Photography was a hobby, nothing more.
He did feel for Issy though. She wanted her passion to be more than a hobby and he really wished it could happen. Even if she had not been as talented as she was, he would want that, because it was Issy. "Maybe you need to make them realise." He did ask her if she ever thought about playing at a bar. Many bars and restaurants had bands... Okay, maybe not many but quite a few. There were other venues too. David didn't know how it worked, it was not a world he lived in after all, but he was certain it was possible.
"Maybe you should. Or YouTube. Everyone's on YouTube these days. Some even leave Hollywood to be on that only." The entertainment industry was sure changing a lot all of a sudden. Not that it scared him too much. On the web or the silver screen, they would still need people like him to light their set.

Issy had considered playing in bars and what not and started thinking that it was becoming more of a must now that the industry didn’t seem to take her seriously. Some artists were taking her opinions into account but others completely ignored her because she was only a sound tech and they were the world and universe. It annoyed her greatly and hoped that if she ever did become famous that she wouldn’t become like them. She wanted to stay true to herself. It wasn’t the kind of thing she could talk with her cousin though, mostly because she was born in this universe and was always given the opportunities to make it big.
“Yeah if I slap them in the face to wake them up.” She said jokingly. Sometimes she felt like giving up but she still had her hopes up for the job. She wanted to become an accomplished artist and while her style didn’t fit everyone’s taste nowadays, she didn’t care. She always loved good rock music and she was convinced that it would never die. They just needed refreshing new songs and it was what she could give them if they wanted to hear her out.
“I could probably try bars and record myself to get on youtube.” She said with a shrug. Whatever solution she might have to use, she needed to find a way to make it through an agent.

In a way, David could understand her. He too was in the industry but in a post so low that most people looked down on him and wouldn't take his advice into account. The difference between them was that he was not trying to get above his current situation. He did enjoy taking pictures but he didn't want to become a director or even necessarily a famous photographer. He just wanted to take pictures every now and then. His job was his job, not his passion, not the first step in his amibition, it was just a job. It was not the case for Isabella. He felt sorry for her but there wasn't much he could do to help her in her dream, other than support her. He was not even sure she'd let him help her even if he could anyway.
"If it worked for Justin Bieber, right," he said, referring to Youtube. He gave her a smug smile, knowing this was likely the last celebrity she wanted to be inspired by. It was precisely why he said that.
With their orders given away, David looked around the bar, feeling hungrier than ever. Up until then, he knew he needed to eat, but had been working and cared more about it to focus on the fact he was hungry. Even when Issy came, he merely pointed out how he needed to get some food as well as a drink. Now, the burger couldn't come soon enough. When it did, he was about to take a bite but stopped to look at Issy. "Anything more we have to complain about or I can stop talking?"

Isabella knew that there weren’t much that David could do for her except to be her comfort zone. Sometimes though, she did feel bad for venting on him constantly. He must think that she was a jerk for doing that to him constantly and the thought calmed her down a little. After all, they had been friends for so long, why ruining a friendship because she was in a horrible mood, thanks to the job she had? She gave him a look when he mentioned Justin Bieber and shoved him teasingly, but not too strongly to make him lose his balance.
“Don’t mention that name; it’s a cuss.” She said, pretending to be offended by his words and took a sip of her drink. She too was becoming hungry and wanted to eat but they had to wait, if this place was taking so long she might get it off her list. The food better be good!
She smirked a bit and nodded. “Yeah, I’m done, I want to enjoy my time now that work is over.” She said, stretching her arms a little to make herself comfortable.

David was used to be the one Issy talked to and passed her nerves on. He knew her too well and didn’t want her to be in trouble because she exploded in front of someone she shouldn’t. She was not as temperamental as she looked sometimes. She was more sensitive than people imagined. He already could not get her as his girlfriend, it would be terrible if he also could not be her best friend. He had to settle for the next best thing and was terrified at the idea this might be taken from him. At least he didn’t have an older, cooler brother for her to be in love with and torture him further. Wouldn’t that be so cliché?
David bit down in his burger as she confirmed that she was done rambling. “Same here,” he replied after swallowing most of his bite. Some might argue that watching Lindsey Bates all day as she played her sexy self in front of the camera for a video was a blessing they’d all sign up for, but it was just his work. In terms of diva, she had not been the worst, nor the team working for her, but he was a nobody in there, just the guy who placed the lights. No matter how important it was, he was someone meant to stay in the background and who better remember it, in case he suddenly wanted to talk to the ‘talent’. Not that it would happen. Lindsey was sexy alright, but he couldn’t say he liked her too much. Her music was not his style and he felt like whoever counted on looking sexy was trying too hard.
The food was good and the beer too. Then again, even if it was not all that great, David would have been too hungry to really care. “You want to head back home after to watch something?” David didn't have video games so Netflix was about all he could offer at his place in terms of entertainment.

Issy considered herself lucky to have someone like David by herself. She never really got along well with other girls, most of the time they ended up being too girly for her or got on her nerves. She could count the number of the friends she had on one hand and she was okay with that. She wanted to make it big too, just like Casey had been able to but people were mostly awe about her talent, hers was more…raw, she figured, she was an artist who’s genre wasn’t as famous as what Casey went to. She was willing to admit that she had a love hate kind of feeling towards her cousin. While they had a lot in common, she doubted that she could ever end up being that close to that girl. She didn’t want to think of that either though hence it would only down her mood.
She was enjoying the meal, this spot was always a good one when you had a bad day as the food always ended up cheering her up. That was the meaning of comfort food alright! She nodded her head at his suggestion. This sounded like a plan, anything that would help her forget her dull day. “I’m down for this.” She said they could binge watch a show they had always wanted to.
