Since Noah was always working, Jack decided that it was about time he’d have a dance practice with Dottie that wasn’t at the dance studio. He was in an incredibly lazy mood today, which was rare but he still wanted to be professional hence the reason he had wanted to practice still. That didn’t mean they always needed to go to the studios though as staying at home was far more appealing to him today and that’s how he ended up calling Dottie and suggesting her that they would do this here, at Palm Woods instead.
It would give them the opportunity to stay home and if Dottie wanted to see her sister then she could since they were living next doors. This was one of the various reasons as to why it was good to live next doors with hers. He could also hang out in her apartment where he’d plan ways to match Noah with people. Seriously, that guy needed to have fun or at least a girlfriend. What was wrong with dating anyone? Alright, maybe he didn’t have one either but he wasn’t closed to the idea (just extremely blind to it) and besides, Noah worked so hard that he needed a break too!
He put his phone onto the counter of his kitchen and made sure to push all the furniture in the living room to have enough space for dance practices for when Dottie would arrive. He knew Noah would come back home relatively late which was another reason as to why Jack often claimed his friend needed…fun. Anyways, today wasn’t about him; it was going to be about the next choreographies they’d have to work on! It’d be fun. He was dressed up in his usual sports clothes and now waited for his closest friend to arrive so they could start working.

It was Dottie's day off, and as per usual, she found herself to be asleep at an unusual hour. Not unusual for her, but rather, for the general public, and definitely for her sister. In fact, it was only when her phone began to ring that she was roused from her deep slumber. Groggily, she'd answered the phone with a yawn, only to hear her friend, coworker, and neighbour, Jack. It seemed he was just as lazy as she was, wanting to practice at home instead of at the studio. Dottie was excited about their current projects and accepted immediately, realising only then that she would need to do a bit of preparation.
She rolled sleepily out of bed, stretching as she walked to her en suite bathroom, where she quickly took off her pyjamas and hopped into the shower. The shower was brief, just long enough to wake herself up, and so she had gotten dressed in her workout clothes and thrown her hair up into a messy but tight and functional bun atop her head before twenty minutes had even passed from the time the phone call had ended. Dottie grabbed a water bottle and a granola bar and headed out of her apartment, not bothering to take her keys or to lock the door - she was only next door, and Lily was home doing some homework, so she wasn't worried.
Not bothering to knock - when did she ever? - Dottie walked into the next-door apartment. Jack had already moved all the furniture out of the way and was prepared as always, and so Dottie wasted no time eating her granola bar on the way over and depositing the empty wrapper into the rubbish bin in his kitchen. She took a quick drink of her water bottle and set it down on the counter, giving a little wave over to her friend to say hello.

Jack was rather excited to get a day of dancing. What made it better was that he didn’t have to go all the way to the studio. Boy he didn’t feel like doing that! He just wanted to chill at home and with a few friends around. He was also quite enjoying only Dottie’s company. They wouldn’t get too many distractions and it would still get them to work out considering that dancing was still very physical. The fact that they didn’t have to go to the dance studios was a big plus for Jack.
As always, it didn’t take long for Dottie to arrive and he was pleased to see her right on time, once everything was settled. He never liked giving her a bad impression and a messy room would have been one. One where he wasn’t prepared would be one as well. None of this happened, luckily so he was fine and relatively cheerful. He didn’t care either if she didn’t knock on the door before entering; he had often told her that his apartment was hers. Noah couldn’t argue against this besides, he thought that Noah appreciated Dottie as well. They all worked well together! It would be even better now that Noah had his own dancing partner, picked by Jack of course. He only wanted the best, and the prettiest for his friend!
He turned to he once she ate her snack and was done. “Awesome, you could make it.” He said with a smile. “I thought it’d be better to do this here now that Noah isn’t around. It’s still the same except it’s not hundreds of miles away.” He was exaggerating, but he still preferred doing this here than having to deal with the traffic too.

Dottie really counted herself lucky to have such a great friend as Jack. They got along, sure, but beyond that, they worked great together. Their creativity inspired one another and they always had a great time when working, something that not many people could brag of. Their work was always spectacular, and even Dottie could say that she was proud of the end results when she and Jack worked on a project together - which, thanks to their proximity, was almost a constant event.
She and Jack were always coming up with new ideas. Recently, those ideas involved Noah, Jack's best friend and roommate. Noah and Dottie had their differences, but they still got along well, even if she did rarely see him. He was always working, that Noah! Dottie was hardworking too, but she knew when to take a break (by that, she meant that if she didn't take one once in a while she'd collapse from exhaustion no matter how stubborn she was). Jack and Noah seemed like complete opposites, and she still sometimes wondered how they'd ended up as best friends. Regardless, the two of them were definitely amusing to be around, and she wouldn't change either of them for the world!
"Of course. You know I have nothing better to do than to dance with you!" said Dottie sincerely when Jack commented on her arrival. It was true, but she still smiled and gave a little laugh when saying it. Dancing and choreographing with Jack was probably in her top three favourite things to do in the whole world. She nodded when he mentioned his reasoning and that Noah was away. "When isn't he? Seriously, that boy needs to sit down once in a while. He works way too hard!" of course it could be argued that Dottie was the same way, but it didn't seem that way to her.

Jack always considered Dottie as one of his closest friends; not only did he know her since high school but they always seemed to be the perfect combination when they had to work together. They would think fast, and get things. He also managed to motivate her when he felt less like it and she was like an illumination to his days despite the fact that he was quite obvious to it. To be honest, Jack rarely listened to his own emotions regarding anything so it wasn’t new for him to be blind when it came to this.
Jack would still think of Noah, even if he claimed that it was a day off. Not because he had feelings for him, because he knew quite well that he was straight, as well as Noah so don’t get any wrong ideas here, but because he worried for him. He worked way too much and he would go mad if he didn’t relax once in a while. That’s how he came with the ‘partner plan’ and he was glad that Dottie had agreed to it.
He smiled slightly when she replied to him. He sure was glad that she was there! They could now get stuff done and they had a lot of business to do. He nodded, agreeing with her as she said what he thought of Noah. “He certainly does, I hope he will with Audrey, she’s super cute and nice, how could he resist to that?” he smirked, proud of his own choice.

The best part about working with Jack was that the two friends seemed to inspire each other to do better at a constant rate. If one had a creativity block, the other would surely fill in the gap with their own ideas, and vice versa. Not that they usually had creativity blocks when they worked together. They would always be bouncing ideas back and forth, happy with any and all results that they came up with - usually. Dottie tended to be quite picky, but only with her own work. In her mind, Jack could do little to no wrong.
Dottie smirked when Jack mentioned Audrey. "You know, I never took us for matchmakers, but here we are!" she said with a light laugh. "I hope it works out for them." she added. Noah was a whole new level of stubborn, and if anyone had a stick in them where the sun wasn't shining, it was probably him. Hopefully he wouldn't break Audrey's heart or anything like that! Then again, he wasn't that kind of guy - at least not intentionally. "Just in case, you should probably give him a few pointers on how not to be so cold. Knowing him, he could easily say the wrong thing at the wrong time without even meaning to!"
Their plan could work, of that Dottie was sure, but it was a matter of putting in the right amount of effort. They couldn't push it too hard, or it would end up blowing up in their faces! Even so, they needed to make sure that everything went smoothly according to their plan and that it was natural enough that no one - especially Noah - would suspect anything.

Jack really thought he had came out with a good plan to have Dottie over his apartment instead of going to the dance studio. Not only did they have access to water and food as much as they wanted but they were near Dottie’s apartment which was near her home and it meant they would get even more time to practice instead of wasting it in the traffic hours when they’d return here to Palm Woods. He only saw positive points of doing the practices here and he almost wondered about why he didn’t get that idea yet.
He grinned as Audrey came in the discussion. He was convinced that she would be a good match for Noah. “Eh, I can’t help it and I’m getting worried about Noah; poor guy, he’s so stuck up.” He said with a fake dramatic sigh only Dottie would enjoy to see. It was a shame that he had been upset about the situation while it was for him that he did the work! He paused at Dottie’s comments on his friend. Darn, she was right! He needed to talk with Noah. “You’re right!” he exclaimed face palming in the process. “If I don’t talk to him he’ll ruin his own chances with Audrey, ugh.” Why was it so complicated to pair someone like Noah with someone?
“Maybe I could get Dom to have a chat with him and to shake him up…” he suggested. Maybe not a good idea but it was still worth a shot? He’d be curious to hear Dottie’s thoughts about it.

It was almost dangerous, practicing at Jack's instead of going to the studio. They would probably end up making a regular habit of it and would hardly ever show their faces at the studio again unless they had to be there for something! It was true that working from home was easier... they'd just have to try to make it worth their while to leave and go to the studio sometimes, too. They already carpooled together most of the time, so it wasn't too much of an issue for the most part. It was just so much easier to stay home and be lazy about it, that was all!
Their plan between Noah and Audrey looked good on paper but it would definitely be a lot of effort behind the scenes on their part to make sure everything went smoothly. It was funny - both Jack and Dottie were still single themselves, and yet they were more focused on getting their mutual friend into a relationship than they were on themselves! "He just needs to figure out how to relax a bit. Living with you, that should be no problem!" Jack was hardworking, but he was way better at time management than Noah. Hopefully the two would balance each other out the more time went on!
Dottie laughed at the idea of Dom and Noah having a one-to-one. "Maybe not... you don't want to put him off completely." she sighed, exasperated. "I just don't know what else there is to do... maybe wait on Dom till we know for sure that he's into her, and then make him fight for her? I just don't know where to draw the line with our meddling." She didn't want to mess it up or make it worse, after all! She'd never forgive herself if she meddled too much. "Do you think we should just kind of let it happen on its own, now that we've planted the seeds?"

Jack liked the idea of being able to practice in the comfort of his home. Besides, he needed to plot a few things in Noah’s back along with Dottie. It also gave him a good excuse to spend some time with her as well. He only saw advantages in this situation and didn’t see how it looked like they wanted to be alone together. Did he really want to be alone with Dottie? In a way, he did, but he didn’t think that practicing dancing was his way to be alone with her…not at all. Besides, Dottie took dancing way too at heart and he didn’t want to ruin that.
He was happy he could plot the plan he had between Noah and Audrey and chuckled at the idea of seeing how well the pair was doing together. It would be beautiful, he just needed to give a little push to Noah, or a big one, depending on how stuck up he actually was. He laughed at Dottie’s comment. “He needs more than that, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him relax.” He admitted. They were after all, living together for quite some time now.
He pouted as Dottie didn’t agree with his plan. “Fight for her?” He liked the idea, would give him a bit of a challenge. He scratched his chin for a bit. “There is no line for now since there is none.” He noted, they needed to spend more time together, for sure. “If we do that we have time to grow old before anything happens.”
