Franck slipped out of the bedroom quietly. He walked to his kitchen, turned on the coffee machine, pulled everything to make breakfast. As he slowly prepared the food, he let his mind wander. It had been a little while since he had a serious relationship but he could still remember him. He just arrived to L.A. and was studying at the same university Franck was going to. He had trouble adjusting. Franck found him so cute, despite being his complete opposite. He showed him around. He became his first and closest friend, and then more. He told Franck he was not looking for something serious but that didn't stop Franck. Even when he cheated on him with other guys, and sometimes women, Franck focused on the fact that he was always coming back to him, that he shared more than a physical attraction. Franck thought it was enough. And then he dumped him. He found his footing around town, he got his places, made friends, wanted to have fun. And Franck was choking him.
That was the worst, in Franck's eyes. His love was smothering. It really hurt him to hear it, more than everything else. It made him afraid to hear that againm to the point of having him overthink it as he prepared breakfast this morning.
Charles was still in the bedroom. Franck kept telling himself to take things slow with the guy. He just discovered his homosexuality. He was no doubt not ready to be open about it. He still had so many questions and hesitations. Franck wanted to be there for him as much as he could. But with every kiss, caress, with every time they slept together and Charles spent the night with him, Franck found himself hoping. But he had to restrain himself. Charles could just as easily decide to go find himself someone who was more his type once he'd better accept who and what he was. He had to protect himself in this, until their relationship was made clear. Why was he always jumping into a relationship like this without being asked out first!
He was preparing an omelet big enough for the two of them and a few things on the side. He couldn't say he yet fully knew what Charles liked the most but he figured it would be a good start for their day.
