He didn't mean to scare her with his comments. He was certian his parents wouldn't immediately tlak about whether or not he wanted to marry her. They'd first ask if she were his girlfriend, if he wanted her to be his girlfriend and when he would make her his girlfriend. And then they would talk of marriage. He was jesting, of course, but he wouldn't be surprised if his parents would be the ones pushing their children to marry once they would find partners they like and feel compatible with.He laughed at Casey's comment on that regard. "I'm sure I'd be the only one hearing of it, but I don't need my parents trying to know what's happening in my life until I choose to talk about it." He was not a child living under their roof anymore. If he had a lover, he would mention it when he'd feel like it. It wasn't like he intended to hide a serious relationship anyway. But he didn't need his parents prying when it only started. He was somehow certain all parents did that or wanted to do that.
He was relieved that she was fine with his plan. There were a lot of the beautiful and popular restaurants around town, including many by the waterfront like the one he mentioned. He thought it was a good choice. It was kind of annoying, setting a date with someone and letting them go before you, but he had some more work to do, unlike her who was free to leave already if she wanted. Also, she may not want them to go together, as it would likely mean leaving together as well. He didn't know what she thought of him, if that was something she would be fine with or not. He waved at her as she left and went back to work.
He was hoping that he didn't run too late when he arrived by the restaurant, that she had not been waiting for him. It was the stressful thing when you didn't come together, not wanting to make the other wait for too long. He hoped he didn't put her in that situation as he walked into the restaurant and searched for her.

Casey had slightly worried but she was able to chase it away as she was aware that he was mostly joking about it. She couldn’t help but smile a bit as he spoke of his parents. “Unless the magazines tell them first.” She reminded him. It was true that he wasn’t used to be so much in the headlights but he might be and she was aware that this would give more content into gossips about her possible relationship with him. She had heard rumors but she preferred not to pay attention to them and take her time with life.
She waved at him as she managed to make it back to her home where she would prep herself a little for the evening. She did appreciate Akeem’s company, much more than she thought, or else, she wouldn’t have agreed to go out with him. Was it a date? She did wonder, but she preferred not to think of it much. For now, she thought of him as a friend and they were better to get along since they would have a few projects together.
Luckily for him, she didn’t wait on him as she arrived only a few minutes later and found him searching for her. “Akeem!” She said hoping he heard her. “I got stuck in the traffic.” She told him.

Right, the magazines. Akeem was about to object that he doubted magazines cared much about his social life but he realised they would care about hers. She was pretty famous, more so than he was for sure. And after everything that happened in her life, the death of her boyfriend, tabloids wanted to see what would happen to her next and would regale on commenting about her getting over it and finding romance again. Was it a good idea to go out with her then? But he didn't want to be stopped by what others might say. "Let's hope not, but I will deal with it if it happens. I won't avoid doing things just because of how some people could comment about it. I'd never do anything otherwise." He could agree on trying to be on your best behaviour and being an example, but that was the most he was ready to do, and only to a certain limit. He wouldn't avoid people or activities just because rumours might fly.
He heard her calling his name and turned around. Well, at least they met pretty quickly, as it would have been awkward. She apologized, making it sound like she arrived after him. "You don't need to excuse yourself, I just arrived too. Shall we?" Luckily they'd get a good table. Well, it wouldn't be luck, Akeem was cetain that they would, especially if anyone in the staff recognized either of them. He bet on Casey but he could still be recognized. Akeem was eager to eat, he was getting hungry.

Casey wondered if he was against being in the magazines so much, however, she doubted that you could pick if you wanted to take part in them or not. It came with the job, some would say and she’d have to agree to it. If being famous meant being on the front page of magazines on the occasion she’d deal with it but the main issue there was that people were starting to worry too much about her love life than she’d like to. She had a slight worry for a moment that he might not be happy with it but hopefully, if he wanted to take the job of writing his shows, he’d get media attention too. That’s what you wanted when you were working in the line of their jobs.
She nodded her head, glad that he was thinking that way, and smiled when he said that he could deal with it if it did. His parents might be surprised, or even his friends. For all she knew. She was the one with a big name around here and worked hard to get there too. She didn’t mind too much but she did wish they would give her the space she needed in terms of relationships. She would be happy to tell them if she was to have a new boyfriend but for now, she wanted to keep things as low as she could without having to tell them.
“Oh I’m glad you didn’t wait on me.” She said relieved. At least, he didn’t wait for her, that would be embarrassing. They met up and she was ready to get to the restaurant for a meal. One of the pros of being famous was that you always got the best spots and she doubted it would be any different. As she guessed, someone recognized her and she started seeing people talking to each other. “I don’t think we will have to wait for too long.” She assured him seeing that they were starting to work things around probably looking for the best table they had at the time.

The Aquarius was not some fancy restaurant only for the elite, but it was no fast-food joint either. It garnered a reputation amongst foodies and those who liked the view, with so many of the tables facing the sea. It wasn't stylished enough for Akeem to feel undressed, which was a good thing. He may have a few suits in his wardrobe, but he kept those for premieres and other events of the like. He preferred to keep a more casual look.
As Casey pointed out, they were quickly directed to a table. They didn't try to fully isolate them but at least they also didn't try to put them front and center. Surely they had other celebrities. Then again, Akeem figured he'd be considered too minor of a celebrity for them to care. And Casey? It was hard to tell at times, but he bet she could get a table easily. If her fame did not do it, surely her beauty helped, right? "Have you been here before?" He assumed she did when he suggested the place but he realised she may not have. It wasn't like he knew of her taste. She did come to his family's restaurant, but she was also accompanied and any of them might have been the one interested in going there, not her. He hoped he piecked right. Well, it should. They had a large selection, even if their specialties were made of seafood and fish. Plus she did agree to it in the first place without suggesting another restaurant.

Casey liked both sides of being part of the elite; being able to go to sophisticated restaurants if she truly wanted to be at peace and not be bothered too much by her fans, and being able to go to places like this and the karaoke bar she liked going to accompanied with her fathers. This one felt like a happy middle where she didn’t need to dress in an utterly fancy dress either. She had to say though, she also liked being able to pick where she wanted to eat and people recognized her well enough that they would be quick to serve them as well.
Just as she thought, they were led to a table that was at a reasonable place. She smiled at this, glad that her predictions turned out right. She glanced at Akeem when he questioned her. “I haven’t but so far it seems like a good place.” She assured him. She was game to try things, maybe not overly odd types of food but still. “I always liked trying new restaurants anyways so it doesn’t bother me much.” Some people might think she had a huge ego but in truth, she tended to be more modest than what people would think and liked to give places and people chances when they were around her. She did wonder sometimes though, if she intimidated him for him to ask such a question. Was it her fame? She did not know, she might have to ask him sometimes.

In truth, Akeem didn't really like the very fancy places. He often found them pompous, demanding of him to show a level of arrogance he didn't think he quite possessed. This place reminded him a bit of his father's restaurant. It was a fancy place. After all, he was a well-known chef and not just amongst the world of foodies. He might not have a ton of books and products on sale with his face on it, but he made enough appearances on a bunch of shows for it to garner attention. He worked on his image and that of his restaurant. He was also very particular in the food he would allow being served in it, as well as the way it was served. To Akeem, this place had a similar atmosphere and it allowed him to be at ease.
He nodded, agreeing with her about the restaurant. "I don't know how much you like seafood but if you don't, I know they don't serve only that," he assured her. It was called 'Aquarius' after all, and had a view of the sea, it made sense one would assumed fish and seafood would be a specialty. But there were clearly other things on the menu. He looked up from said menu as she talked. "Is that how you ended up at my father's restaurant?" Then again, it was not a brand new establishment, so she might have gone there a few times in the past and it didn't mean Akeem would have known. Normally, they would have left the one in charge of the servers to tend to celebrities, as he was older and more experienced. Certain people deserved some extra service, even when you valued all clients and their patronage. They could just bring in more publicity, or do more damage after all.
