Hiroto didn't exactly have a regular schedule. Sometimes, he could be working in the morning, passing down flyers, sometimes he was working night shifts doing inventory or packing up boxes in trucks. Even when he was not working, you could hardly find him at home. He was there pretty much only to sleep and nothing else. He was not necessarily at his 'dance studio' though. One thing that was relatively regular in his life was the lessons he was taking to finish high school. Even those dancing with him knew of that. There were even times when he went there with his books. He was not in the alley today. As soon as he finished his lesson for the day, he picked the one in the afternoon, he went towards the beach instead, as he sometimes did. He didn't feel like dancing there but he knew the guys who owned food trucks around the boardwalk and had his favourites. He bought a burger and some water and found a spot along the small wall separating the beac from the boardwalk. Once he sat down, he pulled out his book. He knew Alice in Wonderland was considered to be a children's book but he didn't mind. It was actually not that easy for him to read. There were so many puns and wordplays in there. And Hiro, in truth was almost analphabet. But he was taking lessons to correct that and he needed to read. He actually found it more interesting to read than he imagined. He was fully into it, not paying attention to anything else around him. MADE BY ★MEULK

Meg didn’t know what she was going to do; her dancer partner broke his leg while doing sports and now she was on her own and this meant that she wouldn’t get through her dance competition unless she found someone else. What was worse was that she didn’t have much time and tried not to freak out hence she was in public and had been walking miles to try to calm herself down. This was very bad for her as it was a competition she had at heart; she was always close to being in the top three and she thought they would get it this year, however, her hopes were crushed.
She bit her lips and took a deep breath. She needed to find a solution but what? She stopped walking, feeling her legs that were burning because she walked for more than an hour and took a break, looking around and then that’s when she spotted her solution; Hiro. Of course! Why hadn’t she thought of it before?! She smiled and immediately walked towards him who was reading a book without seeming to care about what was going on around him. “Hiro, hey Hiro!” She said wanting to get his attention as he seemed pretty into his book.
She needed to ask him to be her partner; they already danced before and she thought she could do something with him. She just didn’t want to pick a student because they weren’t on her level and it would be weird.

It had been a moment since Hiro saw Megan again. It seemed that all of their meetings happened out of pure luck. What were the odds? If he were superstitious, he may ponder about this, but Hiro was definitely not. He figured that in a town like this, since they walked in similar streets and all, it was bound to happen. It wasn't like Megan was a celebrity walking around with her entourage with no one able to approach her. Anyway, he wasn't thinking about her. He was trying to understand that book. Alice in Wonderland was not all that easy to read. There were so many words he wasn't sure about, didn't understand. Same for the puns, that he didn't get, reading everything in their literal sense. He was forced out of the headache this book was giving him as a voice called out for him. His head perched up, turned around for the person who could have called him in such a way. He was quick to spot said person. Megan. He hesitated for a moment. Was she calling him just to say hi? He bet she was the kind of person who'd stop just to greet people she knew and give them a smile before moving on. Then again, she was walking towards him, which could mean she wanted to talk to him. About what? He had some homework to do, and he needed to finish this complicated book. He wasn't up to walk her to his 'studio' again or teach her some of his moves or whatever else along that line. It would seem rude to completely ignore her though. He placed his book against his lap, opened. Like this, he assumed he was showing well enough that he was ready to listen to what she had to say but that he was expecting to get back to his business afterwards. He didn't think she'd have anything important or significant to tell him anyway. MADE BY ★MEULK

Megan hoped that Hiro would agree with her idea, but either way, she was determined to have him perform with her. She had enjoyed her time with him and she needed someone like him, who had enough imagination not to only do plain salsa. Sometimes, it was the problem with other people who took dance competitions; they weren’t creative enough and didn’t listen to other ideas than what they had in mind. She had all of her choreography set all she needed to was to show him and they would have to practice a lot and hard but she wasn’t afraid of that as it was what she had always done so far and yet managed to make a name for herself since it was always related to her sister.
“Hiro.” She said once she was close enough to him as she rested her hands on her legs to catch on her breath a little since she realized that she had walked more than she thought that she would out of frustration. “I need your help with something very important to me.” She started looking up at him as she did so.
“My dance partner is injured and he won’t make it to the competition and I need you.” She simply said, going straight to the point as they didn’t have time to lose.

Hiro was a tad curious for sure when he saw just how out of breath she was. He didn't think it could have been because he looked all over for him. He could understand how he may be hard to catch but he didn't think he was important enough for her to do something like that. She was still clearly out of breath and that made him wonder. Maybe she was in the middle of her workout. He would have assumed dancing was all the workout she needed but maybe not, maybe she was one of those who enjoyed jogging all around the area, because the scenery was apparently good to keep them going or whatever. He was wrong though, she had something important to tell him. That couldn't just be asking him for the direction of the street where all the kids dance again. Even she wouldn't ask it that way. Right? He didn't think it was her style, even if he couldn't say he knew her too well. At least it earned her the right of having him placing a bookmark between the pages and closing the book proper. He still said nothing, waiting for her to explain what was that very important thing she wanted to ask help out of him. Did she need someone to hand over flyers for her studio, move boxes? Turned out it was none of these things. He froze, which might not be all that easy to see, considering how still he had been since. She what? "Don't you have someone else from your studio?" He was not saying no, although he didn't think of accepting right now. He just failed to see how someone with no knowledge of the basics like him, who never did social dances no less, could be her best choice for the competition. A competition! MADE BY ★MEULK

Meg was still trying her best not to freak out because she needed a solution and it was important to her. Someone like him could understand such things as having dreams right? Hers was to get down with the competition and to get known other as Skye’s little sister. It was annoying at times since she did have a name and they often forgot about it. Even in the news sometimes when she made it there, and she made it there mostly because of her sister’s success. It was annoying and she thought that if she was to nail this competition she would prove to others that she too had talent on her own.
She shook her head at him as he questioned her. He seemed shocked and she couldn’t blame him since there were a lot of other dancers. “None, I know it’s weird I’m asking you this but it’s really important to me and I need someone who doesn’t do my style of dancing.” It was hard to explain but she wanted to define something new, mix genres. She thought that Hiro would be creative enough to do that.

Hiro had no idea how important that competition was for Megan. He never really participated to any of that kind. The closest thing to one was some dance off and there wasn't anything to gain out of it. He couldn't say he knew much about the world of competitions, how hard it was, how much it cost and what you could expect from it. Anyway, if that really was important to her, shouldn't she ask someone who knew what the dances were about then? That the students didn't have the level was one thing, but how could he over them, when he didn't even know any of the steps, or followed steps to begin with? "I know nothing of your style," he pointed out, but she claimed it was precisely what she wanted. He frowned slightly. Wasn't it making it harder than necessary to win then? Hiro couldn't even say that he watched movies with her type of dance, since he barely ever watched anything. No, he couldn't get why she was picking him of all people. "Isn't knowing the dance what's important in those competitions?" Not that he would know, but he could assume. He saw her perform it a bit for them the last time she came to his studio but that was it. There was a difference between not doing her style and knowing nothing of it. Meg wasn’t about to let that idea go that easily. She thought that she could surely convince Hiro to come and help her in the long run. She trusted him and she didn’t think he would make fun of her choices hence she had come a few times in his studio. She didn’t care where they’d practice if they end up dancing together but she had hopes that he would end up agreeing with her and wanted to improve her choreography. “So? I can teach you the basics, you’re not a lost cause.” She told him, determined.
“You’re the only one I know who could do this, that’s why and I don’t want to ruin my chances with someone else.” She added as she felt her eyes watering up, damn it, she was going to freak out in front of him and she didn’t want to do that in public. It wasn’t very mature for someone of her age but at this point, she truly wanted to get down with it but if he didn’t want to do it then she’d have to think of another plan…and she had none.
“I won’t force you if you don’t want to though.” She then said as she turned around. She guessed that she should leave and find another solution.

Hiro may sometimes sound like a jerk with how little energy he put in his words, when he said any at all, but he wasn't one. Still, learning the basic, and then a choreography to show it in front of a panel of judges for a competition... that was a lot of work. He had actual work to do and never really dance in such a way before. He thought if she really wanted to do all of that, she should at least pick someone who knew the basics, if they also had to learn a dance. And she was even talking of ruining her chances. He didn't get how he could be the one she needed, when he didn't dance like her. She wanted to do backflips and other stuff like that in it or what? Was that even something you could see in those trypes of dance? "I jut don't see how our styles mix or how I can be of help, especially for a competition," he admitted. He never did anything this serious. He was not even appearing in videos or dance movies. He was seeing her about the cry though. It had to be really important for her if she was on the verge of tears. Part of him wanted to tell her to just sit down so he wouldn't have to look up at her from the small wall he was resting against. That would not help her mood though. He felt bad for making her almost cry like this. She sounded so defeated when saying she didn't want to force him. Still felt like she wanted to though. "Sit down," he just told her before she started walking away. She still looked like she could use at least a rest. He jumped off the wall, palced the book in balance on it and pushed his backpack closer to her before going to a food truck to buy her a water bottle. He didn't know what she'd want to eat but she could use a drink for sure. MADE BY ★MEULK

Meg wasn't affected by the fact that he might be rude and she understood that he might feel weird about the fact that she wanted him to dance with her. They weren’t dancing the same styles, but she bet she could incorporate that in their dance, as there was still some acrobatics in dance if she wanted and she could easily do that if Hiro had enough strength to carry her but then there was still the fact that he might not want to do it or not have the time for it as they didn’t often meet up on purpose as usually, they ended up bumping into each other.
There it goes again; Meg knew that a lot of people didn’t think she could make it, she could definitely think of a way to incorporate their dance moves and wanted to make it work but she was still thinking of the fact that it might just fail and that her dream was slowly falling apart now that she had no option. She just didn’t see herself dancing with a lot of people, let along with a student.
She was being a bit overwhelmed and it wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t the one who injured her partner and now she was left with nobody. He was even nice enough to get her a water bottle and she wasn’t stupid enough not to understand that he had less money than she had. “I was so close to getting there. Looks like I’m stuck in my sister’s shadow” She told him. She didn’t know why she told him that but as much as she loved her sister Skye she still wanted people to tell them apart. Her voice was shaky.

Megan had yet explained why she wanted him of all people to dance with her. He did follow choreographies before but was more going with the flow normally. And he never did competitions. Not to add the fact he had to work and had classes. To him, he felt like a poor choice to replace her wounded partner. Then again, he couldn't believe she wanted to ask him in the first place. The thought had to have popped up in the spur of the moment when she saw him there. He couldn't believe anything else. He walked back and handed her the bottle. Since he had one for himself, it was clear it was meant for her but he still made it clear, in case she had been too disrought to notice, with all that was going on in her mind. She barely seemed to notice him though, as she moaned over her troubles. Hiro couldn't say he liked that sort of behaviour. He normally thought rather lowly of people who let depression take over that way after a simple stumble. He looked around, and at his bag, wondering if he could just leave, but that was pretty rough on her so he did not do it just yet. He merely thought about it. "There was no telling that doing this competition would put you on the map, was it? You need to look at your options with a level-head." Hiro couldn't say he liked giving advice. He felt uncomfortable telling her that but she clearly needed to calm down and he bet she'd just sulk even more if left on her own. She was not his responsibility, but he was the one there, so she kind of was for now. MADE BY ★MEULK

Meg was aware that her dream might sound silly to others but she truly wanted to have a name and not just become a dance teacher. She wanted to be seen and to be noticed for her skills and have more of a career. She wanted to be an accomplished dancer too and she wanted to prove it to everyone. She was one of the few people who caught the judges’ eyes last time and she wanted to make sure to keep it up that way by improving their style. She just couldn’t do that on her own but it looked like it wouldn’t happen this year and it was a bummer. She just didn’t want to sound like a whiner to Hiro as he probably had a lot more to complain about.
“I’m sorry, you probably are too busy and it’s not like I’m jobless. I still work at my sister’s studio.” She said to him with a sigh as he came back with the water bottle and thanked him quickly. “People had started to notice us, me and my partner I mean and I wanted to get the money to give extra lessons for people with less budget than what my sister has to offer.” She wanted to help with the business too and having a name always helped in the industry because when you were unknown it only meant that you would go unnoticed and people wouldn’t listen to what you would want to do. Truth was that she had always wanted to do classes that looked like Hiro’s studio for people who had less money to be able to enjoy themselves taking dance lessons instead of spending time in the street.

Hiro had no dream. At least, if he had one, he was not aware of it himself. It wasn't like he hoped of being a professional dancer, or work in a circus like the Cirque du Soleil or even anything else. His only dream right now, if he could even call it that, was to finish his classes and become better at reading. He didn't think it was a difficult dream to reach and he was well on his way to make it happen. If only he had better penmanship and less weird books to read. He looked at his stuff as she apologized. He was not exactly busy, per se. He had only been reading and likely would have just done work for his classes and that would be it. He stayed there, silent, resting against the wall next to her.She then explained her dream to him.At least he figured it was her dream. "Can't you talk to her about this, it' her studio no?" She did mention her sister once, in regard to the studio she was going to and what she just said now suggested it too. "I don't think I'm anything like your partner?" He couldn't say he met the guy, he never met anyone else from Megan's circle of acquaintances, but that sounded like an easy guess. He didn't mean physically, although he suspected it too, he meant in dancing style, technique and perhaps even strength. Hiro was agile but too many broken bones healed not quite in the proper way had weakened him a bit. He got to say though, he didn't expect her to have that kind of dream. He figured she wanted to star in some dancing movie or follow some big star during their world tour. MADE BY ★MEULK

Meg knew that the studio belonged to her sister and they had already spoken about it but they needed money. It’s not like they were the only studio around here and they needed to find a way to get more money if she wanted to be able to do what she wanted. Winning competitions were one way to have it as a lot of people opened their studios or could rent one because of that. “It is but we need money to do it and I wanted to add more classes.” In the building itself, they could do something about it but she wanted to be able to help and by getting more money she certainly could.
“I know you’re not.” She replied to him as he mentioned her partner. She was aware that he wasn’t as tall and muscular as her partner was but that was the point, “You’re his opposite, in every way but I can work it out. I don’t think I can find a dance partner I can actually trust with what I want to do.” She admitted. It sucked to have to wait a bit longer to be able to achieve your dream and every time she thought of it she felt her eyes watering up a little as she took another sip of water.

Money. Everything turned out to be about money, at the end of it. Teaching people how to dance did not really require cash. No one really paid anything where he was. But it was not a proper studio, no teacher, no one was paid to make choreographies, they had no awesome sound equipment, no mirrors to practice in front of, no perfect floor for that kind of activities... They didn't really have a studio, it was more an alley they gathered to do this instead of selling drugs or robbing stores. He frowned slightly when she claiemd that he was his total opposite. He was not sure what that meant exactly. Probably taller than five feet seven, definitely not Asian and who knows what else. Stronger? Maybe. He was ot particularly offended, he just saw it as even more a reason not to pick him then. "So you're in a rush to replace him and you're thinking of me?" You'd think if she was in a hurry that she'd pick one who would know what she wanted and had the look she was aiming for. Then again, if she could only get one of those things, technique came first. Except that Hiro didn't think he even had that. He was a tad curious at what she said though. "You trust me?" He didn't want to say it was stupid of her but that was naive for sure. What did he do to gain her trust like that? And make her believe he could do it? The fact she was still on the verge of tears didn't help but he couldn't bring himself to just say yes. He was not the kind to run head first into a trap like that. He wanted to know what he was getting into before saying whether or not he would. MADE BY ★MEULK
