REYNOLDS, SKYLAER
Character's full name: Skylaer Adelaide Reynolds (née Andrews) Nicknames: Skye Age: twenty-nine Talents: dancing, choreography Orientation: Heterosexual Play by: Julianne Hough
Appearance: Her most distinguishing feature is her pale blue eyes which are strangely bright; her light blonde hair was quite long for a long time but she recently chopped it all off and now has it styled in a bob. For the most part, Skye's personal style is comfort over fashion. She spends most of her days at the dance studio, so she needs to wear comfortable, breathable clothing - if that happens to coincide with fashion, so be it, but she doesn't actively attempt to look fashionable on a daily basis. If she has a business meeting or something similar, she actually cleans up very well and can look extremely professional when she wants to. Personality: Skye's personality has changed a lot over the past ten years, but her main traits have always stayed constant: determination, hardworking in nature, and stuborn. She is prone to overworking herself, though that has happened much less frequently throughout the last five years or so. Skye works hard for everything that she wants and doesn't believe in getting things the easy way. She was very career-oriented in her teens and early twenties, but now that she is successful and is at a stable point in her career, she has become much more personable and family-oriented. Skye has a good sense of humour and likes to tease her little sister, but she can also be all business when need be. She is adaptable and versatile and is overall a very dynamic individual. Likes: dance, being outside, australia Dislikes: superficiality, maths, cold weather
History: Skye grew up in a very close-knit family and originally hails from Melbourne, Australia. She was the first-born daughter of Ned and Adelaide Andrews, a rancher and a zoologist. Three years later, Skye's little sister Megan was born. Skye was a good older sister, though she rarely had time to spend with Megan or even her parents due to her passion for dancing. From about the age of three, Skye began attending dance classes and never stopped. She truly had a love for the art and was very focused on it, even from such a young age. Though she attended a normal primary school, when it was time for her to attend secondary school, Skye begged her parents to send her to a special dance academy. Due to her determination, her parents agreed.
With this extra time devoted to dance - though the usual school subjects were still covered in the academy's curriculum, of course - Skye was able to begin performing in dance competitions all across Australia, in latin, ballroom, ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles. She won countless awards and competitions throughout the next five years, saving every penny of her prize money in order to be able to afford to start her own dance studio, which had since become her dream. In addition, from the age of sixteen, Skye began to work as an assistant teacher to a children's ballet instructor. Between her job and her constant competition wins, Skye managed to save enough money that, at the young age of nineteen, she was able to fulfil her dream: thus began the life of Skylark Studios.
Skye's studio quickly became renowned throughout Australia, and even in New Zealand. Aspiring dancers and casual dancers alike flocked to the studio, intrigued by its multi-award-winning owner and its raving reviews. It was likely thanks to Skye's own passion for dance that the studio did so well. Beyond this passion, there was also determination and ambition, and thanks to those traits, at the still-young age of twenty-one, Skye made the decision to expand her company's name and bring it to Los Angeles, California. Megan had recently turned eighteen at the time, and so Skye, feeling as though she hadn't spent enough time with her sister in their youth, offered to take the girl with her, as she also had an interest in the performing arts. Skye thought that Megan would do well in LA because of this. Once their parents agreed, the two girls set off to the other side of the world.
Skye's second studio was quite possibly even more successful than its sister, thanks in part to the location and also in part to an accountant that Skye had hired to help her manage her new inflow of finances. The accountant's name was Scott Reynolds, and he was funny and genuine, if not a bit of a nerd in Skye's opinion - mainly because he loved math, which she hated, as well as strange things like table-top roleplay games. Skye liked to tease him about it, and the two formed a very close friendship. Scott would always jokingly flirt with Skye, or so she thought, until they finally got together when she was about twenty-four. Skye hadn't realised it until it happened, but she had fallen in love with the accountant.
Scott proposed to Skye when the latter was twenty-six, two years after they'd gotten together, and they married a year after that, when Skye was twenty-seven. They had the wedding on the beach in Australia, and vacationed in New Zealand for their honeymoon. Now, Mr and Mrs Reynolds have a small daughter of about a year old, Adelaide, named after Skye's mother and following the tradition of keeping the name in the family. They live in a nice home in Los Angeles, not too far from Skye's studio, in a green, pleasant neighbourhood hidden a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main parts of the city. Skye's sister is still a regular visitor, of course, and even though she hasn't lived with her for a few years, they are closer than they had ever been before. Skye's turned into a much more family oriented and less career oriented person, and is even a bit less stubborn than she used to be. She's comfortable in her life, though she is starting to worry that her next birthday will make her thirty.
