Casey didn’t want to rub it in front of Franck when they were talking about love and relationship. It had been hard for her to lose her last boyfriend and she didn’t want it to happen again. She knew that the chances to lose a loved one this tragically were thin but nothing said it could happen again and she was also only getting back on her feet so she wanted to take things slow.
She nodded, agreeing with what Franck said there. “I agree, people are crazy.” She said with a smile. After all, everyone knew about her loss and either they were talking to her about it or when she showed up they stopped talking to look at her. “We need to get super big houses that are far away from everyone if we want that.” She did take time for people who liked her but she wanted to keep a distance too, it was weird to know that everyone knew about you and yet you didn’t even talk to them.
She laughed a bit as he talked of Dominic. “That’s true, you could ask him to use his radar. I’m sure he’ll understand though, I mean, mistakes happen. Why would he hold a grudge against you?”

As much as Franck wished to do like Casey and go slowly when meeting someone else, he had this tendency to fall hard and fast. No doubt that, by that point, had it been him, he would have asked Akeem out if not kissed him a couple times already. And that despite telling the guy he wanted to take things slow. It was something he had to work on and he was not going to push Casey to do like he would. He blamed himself every time, since it was in great part why he went through so many heartaches, albeit not as painful as the one she went through. Still, rejection hurt, no matter how it was done.
He chuckled as she agreed with him and added some more context. "Well, I don't own a super big house but I don't think I have to worry too much about crazed fans." From what he understood, you needed to be a celebrity to live in Palm Woods. And even if celebrity was relative, there was security and the like.
He had a slightly bitter smile. Of course she'd say that. And he would agree with her, it was not something wroth holding a grudge against. In fact, Charles had not been aggressive or violent over it. He merely pushed him away. But that didn't make it less awkward. "Our studios are close and we live in the same place so that makes it awkward at times. I don't want him to avoid me or fear that I'll go after him again at some point. I'm just not sure yet what I can do to put this in the past and allow us to be like what we used to be." He got now what his role was, he was not going to try to change that. But he was afraid things would be different now. Maybe he was just projecting but he could swear Charles had avoided him also, or at least been a little colder towards him.

“That’s true and you should be thankful of it.” She said teasingly. She knew how fans could be and luckily they had understood that she needed to step back when her boyfriend died tragically. She chased the thought out of her mind and smiled a bit at Franck as they were talking about his love affairs. If you could call it that way. She did think that Franck deserved to be with someone who loved him just as much as he did but sometimes, it was hard to find the right person and even harder to go back in the dating market when you lost someone dear to you.
She looked at her friend as he talked about what happened with Charles. “Has he done that so far? Maybe you two just have busy schedules that don’t seem to fit in.” She suggested. How could anyone avoid Franck? He was the sweetest man on earth she had known. Had he been straight, she would have probably dated him right away!

Franck did have a lot of fans. Enough at least to have driven his mother crazy. Not literally, but still crazy enough for her to grow to hate his career despite her being the reason he started as a kid. She also believed it was what turned him gay, so he supposed he shouldn't put too much weight on what she was saying, but that didn't hurt him less. "Palm Woods is good for dealing with fans though, so I'm spared that. Not all of them understand you're only playing roles or that you don't owe your whole life to them." He never understood how one could dare follow them around, forcing them to take a picture with them when it was not the time, all because they owed their career to them. You don't get weirder a boss than that, nor more uncomfortable situations.
He paused to think about it a moment and shrugged. "We've barely seen each other let alone talk, even when we have breaks or get back home around the same time. I don't want to just apologize though. If he started getting over it, I'll just bring back how I read him wrong and he was very awkward when he realised that someone could get the wrong idea with him." He didn't want to have to explain that it was not his fault, and it would hurt him should Charles start second guessing everything he said or did around him in case Franck read more into it.
He sighed heavily at his predicament. "You've ever been in an awkward situation like that? That's why I usually let the other guy do the first step." He should have let Charles do it instead of assuming he was flirting with him. But he did invite him at his place, teased him nicely, said it was a special treatment, been nice, shared stuff... he really thought that he flirted. He wondered if Casey had embarrassing stories like that too.

Casey knew how it was to be famous and chased after by a group of fans. It had happened to her in the past and it was great, though, she was thankful that they gave her more space after her boyfriend passed away. She was slowly getting back to business and enjoying her life again. She nodded though, agreeing with him. Being a guy seemed to be a lot more troublesome when you were famous than being a woman. Guys didn’t tend to chase females around like girls could do sometimes. “I agree, Palm Woods is good for that, though, I like to have my own place. “She said. She liked being able to be away from people if she wanted and spending time with her dads was great too.
That was true, it was such a tricky situation, she wished she could help him more with it. “It could happen, or it could not. I guess you have to get to know him a little better first, no?” If he didn’t know how Charles could react she didn’t think it was worthy to try to explain yourself yet. Maybe he could, afterward, but not for now. The guy probably needed space if he wasn’t into guys like Franck.
“Unfortunately, I can’t say I’ve kissed a lot of girls and got myself in such a situation.” She said to him with a small smile hoping to make things more lightly for him.

Fans could be great. It was overwhelming sometimes, the level of love you could get from them and how hard it was to believe that you could have such an impact on someone. This made you want to do the best you could for them but that also meant you sometimes had to deal with people who didn't understand that they were maybe not as important to your life and you could be in theirs. Not having to deal with getting a good security company because it was provided for him was a relief. He doubted he would have a lot of crazed fans, but surely some might be interested in finding out where he lived and he'd rather avoid that if possible. Not everyone understood the concept of boundaries.
"I can understand that," he agreed though as she said she loved having her own place. That would have the be the next step for him, he supposed, but he was in no hurry. Plus, he did like it where he was. He wasn't exactly bothered by anyone there and had enough people around for the social butterfly that he was.
Now, he had to think about Charles. Getting to know him better... It was true that all he really seemed to know was that he was an actor who wasn't easily scared and had a younger brother. Not a whole lot. He could look some more infor about him although he would rather have them talk to one another. But if he wanted to make up for what happened, maybe he should see a thing of two to get on his good side first? "You know... I think he mentioned living with his brother who was making music. Maybe I could help him rub elbows with some musicians. Then again, I don't want him to think I'm flirting... I just don't want things to be awkward between us. He's not the first guy to reject me, it's not like I'll try to flirt with him anymore." Franck was not thinking that the problem may be with Charles more than him.
He chuckled at her words. "In your case, they'd be flirting with you, and you know how you're going to respond if you're not interested. That's the dilemma, right? You just never know and have to take a chance."

Casey was glad to have fans that weren’t too overwhelming. Sure, there were some people who were trash-talking about her but she didn’t care; there were always going to have people who did that and they didn’t deserve to have her attention. If she was to do that, she would have be as broken as she was when she had lost her boyfriend in the car accident. She was still coping with it but talking with other people made her realize that she wasn’t alone and Franck had helped her a great deal about it too.
She smiled at him when they spoke of her own place. “We should have a sleepover sometime.” She suggested randomly. She liked talking to Franck and she felt like he was her confidant. She trusted him with everything that happened to her and she knew that he wouldn’t bash on her after that either. He wasn’t the kind to throw a knife in your back after pretending to be your friend.
She listened to him as he talked about his problems with this guy named Charles. She felt bad for him and wished she could do something to cheer him up. “I think you should get to know him better, you two might end up being good friends after that. Not everyone is afraid after a guy tried to kiss them.” She said, besides, actors tended to be more open about different types of sexuality than anyone who wasn’t part of the business. “Don’t see it as a rejection Franck; it was a misunderstanding, I don’t think he would hold a grudge against you for it…” she said, trying to cheer him up the best she could. She did wish him happiness too. She nodded as they talked back to fans that were males. “That’s true, but if I need it I can always hire bodyguards.” She noted with a smile. They were lucky to have enough money for it.

Was he overthinking it? Franck felt like it might be the case. He should ignore what happened and act as it never did. Eventually, the awkwardness would wash away. He thought that it did, or at least that it should have already, but he still felt sometimes as though Charles remembered it whenever they ended up meeting. God forbid they got stuck on an elevator just the two of them! If he ould, Franck would show up with a random guy as a new boyfriend just to show him he didn't have to worry about anything, but it was not his style. And somehow, trying to explain to him that he was terrible at reading signs didn't sound like it would help. Charles seemed pretty clear that he didn't try to flirt at all and he didn't want to upset him by letting him think that he was and start minding every word and action he'd make around him.
He laughed at the idea of a sleepover, pleasantly of course. "I'll bring in the wine." Fanck was not a heavy drinker but he did enjoy a glass now and then. He wasn't so fond of beer or stronger liquor, but he grew to appreciate wine. Or champagne. The bubbles were nice. Plus he figured that she would love that opportunity to have another heart to heart conversation. He had been there for her every step of the way after the loss of her boyfriend, ready to listen to everything and support her through it all. He was not going to stop now.
It was weird to be the one pouring his heart out though, when he usually was the one doing the listening. It was how he preferred things normally, but that ordeal upset him a bit. He was not used to people acting like this around him and felt bad about it. "He seemed to be though. Or more, not afraid of it... More cautious of the fact I may have that sort of feelings for him? Like, that I still might?" He didn't know exactly and, again, it might be all in his head. But it felt as though something changed between them since that 'incident'. And Franck couldn't even just blame it on alcohol and call it a day. In a way, it was for the best. He knew he could get snappy when under the influence and that would definitely have soured their relationship. "I'm sure we'll be able to talk it out. We live in the same place and our studios are close by. It's impossible for us not to run into one another at some point. We'll have to sort it out. I just hate that it isn't yet." Maybe it was naive of him, but it affected him to think someone might not like him or prefer to stay away from him.

Casey could understand Franck in a sense; he deserved to be happy too but sometimes he could also overthink through situations. Sometimes, it wasn’t as complicated as it could really be but since she didn’t know all of the details of Franck’s current situation and never saw him around Charles, she couldn’t exactly judge correctly. She’d have to make sure to see the guy eventually even if she knew who he was, they never filmed together. Perhaps if she ended up doing so, it would give her a better idea.
She smiled as Franck suggested he would bring the wine. “That is a perfect combo, along with chocolate.” She mused. Sure, they were taking care of their weights, but they could also treat themselves. As she often went out to the restaurants with her family and still was able to exercise every day and just enough so she wouldn’t become too fat for the screen, as silly as it could sound.
“Maybe you could clear that off if you don’t.” She suggested. She didn’t know how Franck was feeling about it but if he still had feelings for Charles, then he’d have to make sure not to let that interfere between them if he still wanted to have the other guy as a friend. “I understand, you want to make things clear.” She said to him. She did wish he could find happiness one day too.

It was true, Franck could overthink at times. The thing was that Franck could fall in love very fast and sometimes ended up being a bit overbearing to that person. He tended to forgive those who hurt him because he loved them but he could also end up being snappy on occasions and all of this led to him having his heart broken a few times already. He still believed that it was important to find love and be happy with someone, even if he often told himself to focus on his studies and his career instead. He guessed he should have remembered that earlier.
He found t funny that her first thought was chocolate. "Or cheese. Whichever you fancy the most, I guess." Surely some had wine with many other food, even some that didn't sound like matching well with it and if Casey was the kind to try that he'd likely follow. But chocolate and wine sure was enough too.
He nodded, glad that Casey understood. "I just hate it when things changed when it doesn't have to." Not to add that he didn't want to be judged for thisaspect of his person. If he had to be unliked by someone, he'd rather be for more important traits of his than his mere sexuality. He wouldn't flirt with Charles anymore, so it was not necessary for them to ignore one another.

Casey knew the value of a friend like Franck. She wished all the happiness he could have and when it was going to happen, she would make sure to warn that lover of his that if he ever broke Franck’s heart, she would break his bones. He had had enough of it already, of broken hearts that is and she didn’t think he deserved more. Sure, she went through something tragic but she believed that never finding love was just as bad as her story. It seemed that life had the knack to torture you sometimes in ways that you didn’t want it to. She decided not to think about it any further and focused on the moment they had now, as they were planning their next hang out time. The spa had been nice, and was still nice but they needed something where they could be alone so they could talk and share private things together. “We can do cheese as the first course and then chocolate as the dessert, both with wine.” She added on a playful manner. She wasn’t picky and was all in for a good evening.
She nodded with him, agreeing on the matter. It was true that his coming out had its toll on his career, but people were more open nowadays and especially about artists than they are about your average people. ”Things have changed but some also change for the best. Don’t worry about that, people will grow more accepting, they already are and I can tell you a whole lot about it.” She said, referring to her dads. She didn’t have a typical family after all and she knew it but she was happy with the people that were in her life and it was enough for her to go through life with.

Franck didn't want to think about Charles. Maybe the reason why the guy barely talked to him was because they didn't have much to talk about in the first place. Franck thought they could get along but feared that maybe the other one thought he started talking to him only because he had been interested in him. It was not the case, Franck was friendly with everyone, and he really hoepd to correct this. Then again, maybe he was just being overly dramatic. It was, sadly, one of this bad trait. He didn't seek drama yet he saw it so easily in situations that had none. Or caused it by his attitude despite not wanting it. Unlike Dom, he didn't know how to control that diva side of his to his advantage.
"That's a lot of wine, but maybe that's what we need," Franck commented. If they were to drink with cheese and then chocolate, he felt like one bottle wouldn't be enough. And considering how just one glass can sometimes be a lot to him... He just hoped he wouldn't turn nasty as he could be mean sometimes when drunk. But, with some luck, the cheese and chocolate would help prevent that. The idea of a sleepover might sound childish but he was actually looking forward to it. That would be a nice change of mind.
He was aware that things changed. It was a lot easier now to be openly gay. It was barely a surprise when you were in the industry. But he was also aware how not everyone was as open. His mother, just to name one person, didn't take well that news at all, and was still hoping for him to fix his ways and go back on the right track. He chuckled though, knowing what she meant by that. With her fathers, she knew a lot about acceptance. "Well, here's to hoping people around us get more accepting of who we are." He had othing to toast with but still made it sound like it was one.

Casey laughed a bit as he said it might be too much for the wine but she didn’t care. She liked the idea of having cheese than chocolate. It might not be a meal but she could allow herself a treat and wasn’t it better to eat with a friend instead of worrying all the time about what happened to her? Sure, she had been through something rather traumatic had she to admit but she could live through it, hopefully. She wanted to start living again no matter how long it would take. She was getting back to her normal self and it was all thanks to the people who were in her life.
“The sleepover will be fun though.” She added knowing he would agree either she would have said that or not. It was nice to chat and chill at the spa, and she had needed it. She didn’t know when she would be ready to see someone again but she was willing to take baby steps. It was a good start, no?
She nodded pretending to raise an invisible glass that she had in her hand as he proposed a ‘toast’. “Indeed and to hopefully be able to have partners.” She said including him in the lot because he deserved it too.

Franck was a lightweight when it came to alcohol. He heard of people being worse than him but considering how he could get whiny or mean-spirited with too much, he didn't want to get past the light buzz of the start. He didn't want to say something he would regret later. Especially if he were there as emotional support to his friend.
He chuckled as it appeared obvious Casey wanted that night... well, not out, more like in. "Sure, why not. And in our case, no one will start spreading strange rumous about it." With Franck being openly gay, it would be weird if anyone wrote something in that sense. Well, Franck might be discreet about his love life and sexual preferences but it was a known fact.
Another laugh as she wished them partners. "We're still young, it'll come in due time and all that stuff people say to cheer you up," he added. Still, he kind of wished for a partner. He wasn't very good at being alone, he liked company, and a partner would be great. But it proved harder than he thought. Was it his work that made it difficult or was he too much of a drama queen? "You want to try the next bath?" he asked her.

Casey laughed along with Franck as he talked of rumours. “Thank God, it would be weird, but a funny kind of weird, can you imagine us together, as a couple knowing that you prefer to swing the other way?” She asked him with a smile. This was certainly a funny thing to say! It’s not like it wasn’t new to see the two of them together as people knew that they were good friends. They would even sometimes take pictures together that they would post on social media.
“That’s dull stuff to say, don’t you agree?” She said to him, knowing that he wanted too to get a boyfriend and have a relationship. Here she was whining about herself while he didn’t even have a taste of how great it could be. The pain of losing that said person was greater, that was a truth, but you never knew of that unless you could see what it was like.
“Sure thing, I’m getting chilly.” She said, it was time to try what else the spa had to give them. She enjoyed her time relaxing with him and thought she needed more of these moments.
