Zach didn't think he was not worthy of dating a celebrity. He was born rich. If he wanted, he could own a house as big if not bigger than Dom's, with sports cars and a summer house someplace else that is trendy and who knows what else. His parents certainly did. He could have picked a job that would pay a lot more. But Dom needed someone to help manage his career and Zach came in.
It was in part because he thought it might nto be very ethical, even when she was not even one he managed the career of, but in reality, he didn't care. He shouldn't have helped manage his friend's career in that case. It was a bit weird to date someone else's talent and it could play against her though. The main reason was how different they were. Dom called him a friend, but they were not living together, and his more pragmatic - Dom would call 'boring'- side served him well when managing his career. It was why he put a distance between him and Lindsey,
Still, having her mad at him was weird and uncomfortable. He didn't think he did anything against her, on the contrary, he tried to help, but it only angered her. He sighed, trying not to think about it. He would talk of this to Dom though and point out how bad of an idea it was. Maybe he should leave soon too, to not dampen the mood too much.
Another weird thing was how Dominic seemed interested by Eleanor. What a strange pairing! He never would have thought she could catch Dom's eye."Maybe because they passed out from too much alcohol," he teased Dominic. In terms of cocktails, Zach liked the old classics and was not interested too much in the newer ones, nor ones with lots of flair.
He startled when Dom brought him about giving a house tour. "I may be your manager, but there's a limit to how much I'm willing to do for you," he said. He was not a servant. It would be weird to give a house tour of someone else's house. "I thought I was a guest today," he added with a little smile to show he meant to tease him here. He had no problem indicating where the utilities were if need be but that was it. He was not here to work.
The girls noticed the spa and left together to do some sunbathing for now. It was the perfect opportunity for Zach. "I've never seen you trying to flirt in such a subtle way. Are you really trying to date Eleanor Bates?"

Dominic was enjoying himself here, he was in his element. He was always hosting incredible parties and the like but today, he had to tone it down a little, especially if he wanted to get Eleanor’s attention. He had seen her singing back in the studio and her determination was quite amazing too. He even got more shocked when he noticed that she was on a wheelchair. He wasn’t sure what the feeling was yet, if it was only admiration or if he really liked her. He had yet to figure that out but he wouldn’t stop himself from trying to get said attention and convince her to at least, do a duet while trying to respect her need for privacy in her rehabilitation time.
“Well, it wouldn’t be exactly for me.” He said gesturing himself towards Lindsey. Oh how he knew that the girl was into Zach. He had no ideas how he could resist such a woman. He’d have to ask him some day and didn’t have yet the opportunity to get to it.
“Of course you are, but you don’t seem to know how to relax even if I try to get you to do so.” He said, faking an exaggerated frown. Of course, they didn’t have the same hobbies, he knew that, but he did hope his friend would relax…and there was the opportunity to talk of the Bates sibling. Zach was literally giving him an open window on that one.
“I don’t know yet, but she’s fascinating and can you tell me why on earth you’re resisting to her sister’s charms?” He asked rising an eyebrow. She was a man’s fantasy come true even he would have tried to get his hands on her if he wasn’t into Ellie!

One may wonder how two people so different became friends. That someone like Zach was a manager to someone like Dom, no one would argue, but anything more tended to surprise people. It was true that knowing each other for years, long before Dom even rose to fame, helped. Zach was willing to admit he grew more serious with time, but it was because life asked for him to do so. He couldn't live idly by or party every night when he had so many things to handle, and not just for himself. He had to ensure people like Dominic Smith wouldn't feel like they were not given all the work and recognition they deserved, otherwise he would be out of work. Then again, this was a job tailored for him and his personality.
For a bunch of things, Zach was an old school kind of guy, and it might include how he had funa nd relaxed. It might be why he found it strange that Dom invited him to one of his parties. He did go to some. But he mostly spent time alone with Dom, or sometimes with his sister as well. His friend knew that Zach wouldn't be exactly the type to liven up a party, more like the other way around. In fact, even if Dom had only invited him to laze off by the pool, Zach would have expected it to be because he wanted to talk to him about something, certainly something personal otherwise he would have talked in his office or just on the phone.
Hearing Dom call someone fascinating when he didn't seem to be on the hunt, if ot to date them at least to sleep with them, felt a bit odd to Zach. "I don't think I've ever seen you being this careful," he pointed out. But Dom was not about to talk about it, another weird point. No, he wanted to ask what was Zach's problem to not go after Lindsey. He shrugged though glancing in the sisters' direction. "I don't think it is very wise, especially for her. Going after a manager that is not hers nor working for her agency? That's a possible career ender right there. Besides... She's probably imagining more mysteries beneath the surface than there really is." He wasn't sure what he could say about it. Sure, Lindsey was gorgeous. He was not blind. And Zach wasn't so modest to think a gorgeous, popular and no doubt rich woman was out of his league. But he did think he ought to keep a certain distance between them. "You know she asked me to poach her sister? To manage a future solo career or something like that." He should probably not tell Dom that. Anyway, it wasn't like he really did it, and Lindsey got mad when she found out he talked of her career instead of Ellie's with her sister. He could shrug the whole matter off. "Don't worry, I'm still getting you the deal to sing with her."

Dominic did think he grew more mature despite his general wildness. He could tone down more compared to back then. He wouldn’t have made the move to LA if he wasn’t a little bit extreme and he could also show off that side of his personality on stage while in ‘real life’ as some would phrase it he could be able to relax a bit. Don’t get him wrong, he didn’t think he would be a good customer for a spa but he could definitely enjoy a day off lounging around and taking time for himself. He might be known for throwing some epic parties when he really wanted but he knew when to be serious, especially when it was about selling his songs. Zach also helped quite a lot on the matter. He didn’t mind being the face of it.
Zach was right, he wasn’t that careful usually but he felt like, with someone like Eleanor he needed to be and it wasn’t only because they all knew that she went through a car accident and that she had to take it easy. He was definitely afraid to break her or worse, scare her away and that wasn’t what he wanted. He wasn’t quite sure where that fascination came from either, it was weird, but he liked a challenge and it seemed like one. He had to held back another sigh when Zach talked of the possibilities it would end Lindsey's career if she dated him. "You're seriously thinking that far? You need to forget about the job for a moment. I don't think she'll want to sing any time soon. She seems quite determined on the idea she seems to be quite stubborn."
Dom agreed with Zach, it wouldn’t be wise for Ellie to change of manager if she didn’t want to get backlash. “I don't think Eleanor would go for that kind of move. Other than the fact they look alike, it's quite hard to imagine they could be siblings.” He said. He didn’t think she’d be the kind of person to take a decision on the fly. They were definitely opposites in a lot of aspects.
He got interested when he heard that Lindsey tried to approach him. “I did not know that, I thought she would do this with hers.” He said just as surprised, referring to Lindsey's career. It would be a much more logical move for her if she wanted to sing again.. He nodded, glad that he would still get the deal to sing with Ellie. He was certain their voices combined together along with their styles would be a hit. He might have a lot of excessive and considered to be negative traits but you should never doubt him when he thought when two things matched. If only Zach would listen to him regarding Lindsey!

Zach stared back at Dom. The guy sounded irritated a bit about his logic. "Someone has to. You've no idea how bumpy that ride can get if I wasn't there to plan ahead the possible complications and how to fix them. " He turned away though when he brought up that Lindsey sounded determined to stop singing. He didn't share anything of what Lindsey told him about this, he frustration over her image and her interactions with her manager. "I still don't see her agency wanting to get rid of her that easily. They can still make money with her image and her new projects. Unless she leaves the place to represent herself, there is no agency who wouldn't see this badly." Zach could handle being accused of poaching talents, but he also knew it would not be well seen. It could cost him future clients, and respect within the industry. And it could cost Lindsey any chance of still having a career, at least with her agency if she stayed with it.
"She could if she wanted someone to focus on a possible solo career. But she'd pick someone from her agency, to avoid conflicts," Zach pointed out as they now talked of Eleanor. He bet Dom was tired of hearing talks of work. It wasn't what he planned this party for.
Again, Zach was aware that he knew more of the situation than Dom. Unless Lindsey complained of how she was treated to him as well, he wouldn't know what her relationship with her current manager was. "I doubt she'd want her manager to represent her sister either. That's even less likely." If she thought she was not taken seriously as an artist, he couldn't see why she would trust that person to do a better job with her sister's career. "But I also think Lindsey is the one dreaming of a solo career for her sister more than Eleanor. But I'm sure that's something you'll be interested in finding out for yourself." He stared back at Dom. Well, he probably a lot more things he would be interested in finding out first. It was weird to see him getting into someone like Eleanor. Not that Zach found any fault in her, but they were pretty different in personality and style, he didn't think that would be his friend's type.

Dom knew that he could count on Zach to remind him that there were things you shouldn’t do if you wanted to become big. He would always listen to his friend’s advices however now wasn’t a time for business. It was a time for leisure and he wanted to make sure that Zach would find his content there as well. He made sure to invite his friend into one of his parties that shouldn’t turn out to be as wild as some he held in the past. He also liked to think he grew more mature and simply didn’t wild it out as much. “I know that, but today is a day to rejoice and you should definitely do that.” He said, crossing his arms. “I’m pretty sure she can handle things well.” He said referring to Lindsey. He’d be more worried about Ellie but having a sister like hers, he supposed that she was in good hands. He couldn’t imagine the older sister doing anything wild. He barely remembered anything she might have done that was seemed as outrageous when her singer career was going strong. Not that it wasn’t but she was definitely forced to take a break. He could understand having a sibling around would get you to become overprotective. Which reminded him of his sibling and he looked around finding Audrey talking to Kai and the girl who came with him.
“You’re right, I can find that out on my own and see where this goes.” He agreed with Zach there. It was something he could discover later on for sure. He felt bad for Lindsey though, thinking that she might be having hopes for her sister’s career because hers wasn’t going as well as she thought. It could be a blow and definitely not a subject to talk about right now. “I’d restrain myself from talking to her of this unless she brings it up on the table.” He said referring to Lindsey. He knew how Zach could be so career oriented that he might lose some of his tact while talking to people and if he wanted to keep it good around here he would rather not have Lindsey blow up in front of everyone. It seemed to be going well so far though and he was content with it. “Now you should relax and enjoy the day you should be happy that I didn’t make it a very wild party, you will be able to relax for once.” He said winking at Zach bringing their conversation back to a lighter subject.

Zach wasn't aware how much Dom worried about Ellie. He did not, personally. Sure, she was still a little weak and would need mre physical training before being able to stand on stage for a whole show, but Zach thought she was doing fine. He didn't see her as someone who could easily break, like Dom did. If anything, he worried more for Lindsey. Of course, he had insider knowledge of her discontentment with her agency and how much it troubled her. He didn't know if she really disliked singing though and believed it was a shame if they grossed her out of something she enjoyed doing. He also worried of her reaction if her new career path proved to be harder than anticipated or filled with the same type of people with the same judgement of her they had right now. "She may not be as strong as you believe her to be," he pointed out. Being stubborn was not the same thing. Zach thought he should try and help her out if he could. Maybe get some contacts in the fashion industry and see what could be done. But he would have to be discreet, especially if he had no idea what her situation with her agency was.
He nodded and took another sip of his glass. "Good. Maybe that will let you off my case for a minute." It wasn't as though Dom didn't know how he was, yet he seemed determined to push his boundaries. Not just with dating women, although Dom was apparently more upset over his friend's inability to see when someone was flirting with him. Zach was not dumb, if Dom invited him it was in hope the guy would loosen up a bit and relax. He could have done that, had it been just Dominic and his sister and a random conversation by the pool. He'd be more quiet with Kai around, let the two of them do most of the talking while also relaxing. But with the sisters...
"I'm not interested in bringing that up either. I know when is the time for such conversation. And we already had it." He doubted Lindsey would even bring it up herself, although he wouldn't mind discussing it with her in private if she did. Dom was trying to force him to relax though. "Oh, your wild parties are easy to deal with. I just need to sit back and watch you all go while answering random questions mostly about the industry whenever someone come over to my corner." He refrained from saying it also gave him an idea of what he could bring up to those people, and someone even use against them if need to, the next time they met. He looked at Dominic. "You should probably go to them. Something tells me that's what you're more interested about." The sisters left together and while Zach could see Dom wanting to watch over his sister, he also suspected he wanted to be with the other two ladies. Wouldn't that also allow him to show off in his swimwear while sitting by the pool and entertain them? That sounded right up Dom's alley.

Dominic looked at Zach curiously when he objected that Lindsey might not be as strong as he thought. Really? Then he might have had discussions with her in the past and he wasn’t aware of it. He might need to ask for details later. He wanted to have Zach to relax a bit and get him a few drinks in order to do that. He was curious to see how it would turn out to be for sure, knowing where some of his wildest ended up. “You have me curious now.” He said teasingly. “Only a minute, I can send Audrey to you if you get too boring.” He said teasingly. He doubted the man tried anything on his sister. Besides, he’d feel bad for her if she was to date someone like him. Kai could handle him too and he started wondering about the girl he brought with him. It seemed like it was going to be easier than he thought get Zach to chill for once.
“Good, I think we will have a good time.” He finally said with a nod. Ah, as he guessed, he talked to Lindsey in the past. He definitely had to know more later. “You think they’re easy to deal with? Then today will be the easiest.” He added cheerfully. “You want to watch over my sister when I go entertain our guests?” He simply asked. Not that he thought he wouldn’t know what to do but it would be better for him as well. Besides, it could also give an opportunity to Lindsey to talk to Zach and Kai. He bet she and Kai would get along well in terms of having fun.

Zach didn't mean to go into more details about Lindsey but he maintained what he said: he didn't think she was as strong as she pretended to be. She wouldn't have accepted the abuse of her manager otherwise. He also thought she was this stubborn to try and protect herself. He did wish for her new endeavors to work, although he also believed it was a shame that she would stop making music in the process. So many ideas came to his mind to make sure she remained relevant online as she worked through her new projects and how to sell them to people, but he had to restrain himself. He was not her manager. She made it clear she didn't want his help. She got really angry when she found out he talked of her nearly as much if not more than he did of her sister when he went and talked to Eleanor.
Dom was curious now though, understandably. Zach shrugged. "Is anyone really as strong as they want to look? I'm just saying that she may not be as confident as she pretend to be about her change of career. Just like I'm sure Eleanor is stressed over going back on stage after her forced break from it." Both required a leap of faith, and hope that one would not lose too much in the process, that it was worth it at the end.
As he mentioned his sister, Zach looked around for Audrey. "She seems to be doing fine on her own, no need to disturb her. Who's the one with Kai and her?" Zach was well aware of who Kai was but he couldn't say he knew the other person next to him. Having a bunch of women around though, didn't seem too far off for Dom. Or just having a bunch of anyone for that matter.
Dom still asked that he went and watch over Audrey. He looked at the girl with the couple she was conversing with, then the sisters whom he expected Dom intended to join. "Sure, although I'm not certain if I should trust you when you push me away like that. Both the manager and the friend think that," he told him, only mildly joking about this. He just wasn't sure of what he could tell Lindsey if he had to follow along. At least this would provide a small distraction, even if he didn't think it was necessary.

Dominic couldn’t help it; he always was curious about Zachariah’s personal life when it involved pretty women. Surely, a few others tried to hit on him and made it as obvious as Lindsey was doing now. He just didn’t know how the man could resist so much. If a person like Lindsey showed him interest, he doubted he could have resisted as much. Though it might be age, Dom grew wiser and picked the people he would have a good time with, no matter how often he would with the said people.
“Of course, we’re all nervous about something, but sometimes, I think you’re overanalyzing things, you should just enjoy yourself. It’s why I invited you here, to try and have a break.” He said to Zach. He wondered if his friend even stopped his brain from thinking or if he even dreamed of things related to work. He doubted there was anything that could fix him, seeing how he never even changed since they were younger. It was partially why he liked to keep him around. He wouldn’t want to have too many people like him in his life, but having one or two who could keep him grounded was a good thing.
“She’s a friend of his, I don’t mind her around.” He replied to Zach when he asked about the person who was with Kai. He did think she was cute too so he wasn’t against it. She just seemed very shy and Audrey sounded like the good kind of person to fit that task. “Unless you want to go and talk to Lindsey.” He added teasingly. That’s what he was aiming for, to talk to the sisters and see if they were enjoying themselves so far. He wanted to be a good host and show that he could care for people too.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” He said, still responding in the same voice tone. “You don’t always need to be my voice of reason.” He added.

Zach did not spend all this time not dating anyone. He had been with women over the years. He may not have the fame his clients possessed, but he also had a lot of confidence and charisma when required. And his fortune and power also played in making him more interesting to a lot of those women. He didn't know if any of those things were why Lindsey was interested though. Or if that was a smart thing to do. He couldn't see her agency agreeing with her seeing a manager who wasn't hers, or from their agency. A client of his, sure, but not him. The talents signed under him could also complain, especially if they felt he was caring more about Lindsey and her career, although he cared less about that. He didn't need to make things more complicated than they were.
Dom accused him of overanalyzing things. He was about to retort something but Dom added that he needed to have a break today. He sighed at this, giving up. "Sure, why not. But know that you may call it overanalyzing things, it's just me observing details and using logic where you would use your instincts." They had two very different ways of viewing the world, that was for sure.
It was a bit surprising that Dom referred to the other woman as simply Kai's friend. But if he didn't mind her, it meant he shouldn't care either. Zach didn't represent Kai, he didn't know that girl either. As far as he knew, she could have been a model he was hanging out with. Or really just about anyone. That guy could be about as random as Dom at times.
He stared at Dom at his tease. "You had to go there." But Audrey seemed in good company. Sure, he knew the girl, but they weren't close enough for him to feel like he had to interrupt her discussion just to greet her. He gestured to Dom that he would follow him to talk with the two sisters instead. Audrey, Kai and his friend could join them if they wanted.
