Lindsey was more than happy to attend to a party, it would change hers and Ellie’s minds for sure. She wasn’t aware that Dominic invited his sister because he was interested in her, but was aware that he invited her because Zach was there. It only needed that for her to agree in a heartbeat. She argued with Ellie a bit though, as her sister tended to neglect her clothes most of the time and forced her to wear a two piece swim wear and opted for a one piece for herself. They also took a bit more time because Ellie still had her physio appointments earlier in the morning. Now that everything was settled, Lindsey grabbed her car and drove towards Dominic’s place, finding it normal that he was living in what looked like a palace; she and Ellie had quite a home even if it was more modestly decorated. She parked the car and had made sure they had a wheelchair in case Ellie needed one and she claimed that she could use her cane and that she would be fine. Lindsey nodded and helped her sister up. You could see the scars on her leg but she was glad that Ellie wasn’t worried about it unlike many women would be. It was when she stood up and was greeted by the host himself who was in his swimwear already. They couldn’t blame him for it; since it was after all, a pool party. “You both look beautiful, ladies.” He said lightly as he greeted the Bates sisters. “I have room for storage if you need to put your purses away.” He said to them. Ellie smiled at him. “Thank you for the invitation.” She said kindly. She was so polite, thought Dom before he eyed Lindsey and smirked playfully. “The hunt is open, I left Zach in the backyard whenever you’re ready but I suggest you both get ready for the pool, it’s cozy and the water is warm.” He reassured them. He guided them towards the room that was dedicated for the people to change themselves if they wanted to and once they were done sorting out what they would wear and had their towels and cell phones near, they made their ways towards the party area seeing all the guests. Dom was back near the bar talking to a few friends and he noticed they made it back. Lindsey pulled her sunglasses up to scan the area for Zach and Ellie nudged her. “You’ll see him eventually.” She reassured him. “We should enjoy ourselves while we’re there.” She said to her sister. Normally, Zach preferred to avoid Dom's parties. They tended to go wild. He was like a frat boy or something, and even when he was in college Zach steered clear of that group of people and their activities of choice. Maybe Dom was right and he was an old man before his time, but that really wasn't his type of thing. If he went to one, it was either because it was part of his work, because he needed to moderate Dom or because his friend actually organized something small and less wild for his close friends, the "like family" ones. He promised it would be that kind of party. He was pretty insistent too. Must be for his sister, since she didn't know a whole lot of people yet. And Audrey wasn't as sociable as her brother. He eventually yielded. He was not all too interested in swimming but he could show up for a little while. A break could be good after all.
He arrived at the time Dom told him to. He had a bit of a chat with Audrey before she left to talk with others. He didn't mind. If he could laze out for a little while on his own, he was fine with it too. He just didn't want to feel like he was working right now. He'd rip Dom a new one if that was how it would turn out in the end. He could do some idle talk with the other guests but he would rather be left alone if possible. How the two of them could be such great friends was a true mystery!
He had actually gone back inside for a moment when the sisters arrived, meaning that by the time Lindsey went outside with her sister, he was not there for her to spot him. It was impossible to miss him though as he came to apologize so he could walk pass them and recognized them. He looked at the two then gave a quick glance at Dominic at the bar. "Hi," he merely said with a nod. He knew the two of them and couldn't just ignore them, not when they were so close to each other. "I had no idea he invited you too." But why wouldn't he? Maybe because he said close friends and he didn't know they were that close.

Ellie usually wasn’t the kind of person to attend parties but Lindsey had managed to convince her to join Dom’s, along with her. She could tell that Lindsey was eager to go and have a conversation with Zachariah even if in her opinion, he didn’t seem like the kind of person who would often go to parties but what could she say about it; she wasn’t the one who knew him the most since they only met once and in a professional matter. Though she knew that Lindsey had a thing for Zach and you couldn’t just go by without noticing it. She took the time to look at the people who were there, some she knew and others she didn’t but was pretty content with the number of people there were.
She knew of Dominic’s flamboyant personality and thought that it suited Lindsey’s so she wasn’t new to dealing with people like them but she thought that Dominic wasn’t overdoing it. Soon enough though, they were greeted by Zach, much to Lindsey’s pleasure as her sister wasn’t able to hold back a smile and felt her holding onto her, which was rather ironic since she was the one who needed support. “Hi.” She said in unison along with Lindsey. Funny how sometimes they sounded like twins while not being any. Lindsey flashed him a smile. “He has and we thought it would be a good thing to take some time to relax considering our busy schedules.” It was true that Lindsey was giving her 100% with her fashion line that she was building and surrounding herself with the right people. She was rather impressive since she didn’t give off the impression of being able to do so. Not that Ellie didn’t believe in her though. “And Lindsey thought it would be a good thing if I tagged along.” Lindsey glanced at Ellie as she said that. “She’s like you and needs to shake things up.” She said teasingly to both of them when Dom arrived towards the group with drinks for all of them served on a plate. “Refreshments?” He asked them then glanced at Ellie. “I have a few seated areas if you need to rest and got you something alcohol-free in case you couldn’t because of medication…” He said, he wasn’t stupid, he knew what she had gone through hence it was all over the news and he saw her sitting in a wheelchair so she ought to have to take meds at some point. He didn’t want to be a murderer.

What was Dominic thinking, inviting them? He knew that Zach was in talk to have the collaboration he wanted so much with Ellie happen, was that all a ploy to make it a reality? But that was not exactly his kind of ruse. Zach thought that he was usually less subtle than that. Lindsey was talking about relaxing, and their schedule. He nodded to her. "About your clothing line you want to start, right?" He did pay attention and remembered after all. He even talked of it with her sister. He then turned towards Ellie. "And rehearsal, I imagine. How is it going?" He had no idea whether she still worked out to regain her full strength or not, or had any other medical tests to do for that matter. He was not even paying attention to her legs and the scars she may still have, focusing on her face instead as he talked with her.
Like him? He stared at the two in alternance. If that meant she was calm, he was okay with that, but he was not sure about shaking things up. "If she's anything like me, then I suppose she's fine with how things are shaken up usually. And that you're her Dominic. Or he's you to me, whichever you prefer." Pretty women. That was the kind of things Dom would demand for his parties, he'd say. Maybe that was why he invited them.
It was funny to see Dominic coming over to serve them like that. Not entirely unlike him, but still funny. And he was being strangely caring. It was nice that he remembered all of that about Ellie though. "Don't worry, he just moved all of the alcohol from your glass to ours," he retorted, tongue-in-cheek, as he grabbed the glass that was apparently for him. He did wonder just how much alcohol he really put in there.

Lindsey nodded at Zach when he referred to her clothing line. She was still towering over Ellie but seeing who were around here, she didn’t feel like it would be a threat for her sister. Beside, Dominic seemed to know what was going on and gave special attentions to her sister. That wouldn’t stop her from keeping an eye on him though. “Yes, and it’s going well.” She said grinning at him only for it to grow smaller when he asked Ellie what kept them waiting. Her sister shook her head but still smiled at Zachariah. He couldn’t know what she all went through but she wasn’t ashamed to say what happened to her. “I had physiotherapy to go through, not exactly the same kind of rehearsal.” She said, kidding lightly just to let them know that she wasn’t ashamed of it.
“That’s true I tend to be calmer.” Admitted Ellie when they talked of Dominic’s personality in comparison with Zachariah’s. She had seen the two men, though, while she knew that Dominic was energetic he didn’t seem as so when they met in person when she was in the studio with Jerry. Dom overheard what Zach said. “We needed more outspoken people here or else it wouldn’t be called a party.” He said to Lindsey as he grinned at her and shrugged at what Zach said. “Maybe I poured the rest in your drink, especially. Who knows.” He said, leaving the mystery floating around. Zach was going to find out soon enough anyways. It was going to be entertaining, for sure.

It was a bit funny to see Dominic being attentive but also far from unusual for Zach. He knew the guy well, he was aware of this side of his. He just didn't expect him to go to this extent. Or perhaps was it very little. Either way, he couldn't help but feel like he invited Ellie more because he wanted ot invite Lindsey and chose to be nice by including her sister. And why Lindsey? Probably to mess up with him. That was the kind of joke Dom would enjoy pulling, no doubt. Didn't he claim that Zach could have Lindsey all wrapped up around his finger if he wanted?
Ellie explained that she was still on physical therapy. "Ah, I see, you still have those. Well, it's good. It would be bad if you pushed yourself too hard without your body being prepared for it." And she would have a professional watching over her, someone more qualified than some random trainer whose only knowledge is how much they like to flex.
He nodded, agreeing that they would refer as quiet, or calm, while their counterparts were the loud, outspoken ones. Something that Dom was also quick to bring out as the reason why more people like that was needed to have an actual party. "I think Eleanor and I could give you examples of parties that don't call for that. Then again, they wouldn't be your kind of parties and I'd be afraid to go to one like that held by you." The day Dom would turn into some sort of country club, cigar smoking, poker playing guy, Zach would know he had died and was in hell. Or just warped into another reality.
Zach did hesitate. He doubted that Dom would pour only strong liquor in his drinks. It was too early to have him passed out drunk in a corner. But he also knew he could have a heavy hand when it came to pouring down the liquid, so he brought the glass to his nose, just to see if he could tell through the smell how much he poured. Of course, this was not the most accurate of tactics so he slowly took a sip and tried not to cough as it burned down his throat.

Ellie was starting to feel better being at a party that was hosted by no one but Dominic Smith. She knew of his reputation, he was all over the magazines sometimes, and especially when something scandalous came out from one of his parties they would talk of it. She feared it might be a wild one but to her surprise, it was toned down and much more than what she would have expected. You’d almost wonder if the things they said about him and his festivities were right or made-up lies. She didn’t focus on it though as she was talking with Lindsey and Zachariah, surprised to see the man there but it seemed to please her sister. She nodded at him as they talked of physiotherapy. “Yes, I want to be ready before I think of going back to the stage but I’ll get there.” She told him with a nod. She had hopes she just wasn’t sure she wanted to be with the band or keep up with a solo career. What Lindsey said about her songs was slowly making its way.
Dominic laughed as Zachariah argued that calm parties could be fun. “How can it be fun when there’s nothing good to do? A party should have good music and I don’t mean classical music, good drinks, and a friend, the pool is only a bonus besides, who doesn’t like getting into the hot tub?” He asked them. Lindsey agreed with Dominic. “I don’t think I could stand it if I had to sit around all day, even for a party.” She said as she had a taste of the drink that Dom spiked up for her. “That’s a perfect mix here.” She complimented him whom he bowed at and winked at her friend as he smirked wondering what kind of reaction Zach would have and if he would be able to handle it. He might go soft on Ellie but wouldn’t on Zach. Ellie, on the other hand, contemplated the idea of going to the tub as it would be good for her leg, she saw it was a Jacuzzi so the jets would be fine especially after a time of physio.

Zach was not usually at Dom's parties. They would often turn wild and it was bit his thing. The two men were friends but they didn't bond that way. Partying was Dom's thing. He was a social animal, he needed people around him. He also loved attention, whether he was ready to admit it or not. It didn't have to be a bad thing, it just meant he needed some of it. He was good at creating a buzz, even if it was around someone else. He was toned down this time. And also, Zach was under the impression it was supposed to be something very casual with few people. Almost like just Zach, Audrey and Dominic chilling by the pool. There were more people than that in the end, and he had to have invited Lindsey and Eleanor. Zach had no idea Dom was crushing on Ellie, meaning he thought it was just a ploy to have Zach and Lindsey together. He told his friend to drop it, that it would not happen. yet, here they were.
Zach nodded. Stage, interviews, performance for a show, it could all be tiring if she was not well prepared enough. She may be able to perform but it was not better if she crashed right after. "And I heard you've gone back to studio. That's a good start." He didn't feel the need to add one step at a time and whatever thing people said in the circumstances. She still needed to get back on her feet quickly after all. This industry was fickle. He turned towards Lindsey. "And I heard you've gone independent." He should have known she would follow through with her plan. He hoped it got as well for her as she intended.
Dominic joined in and the overused arguments of parties needing loud music, drinks and lots of people came in. Zach sighed, although more on a playful manner. "Hey, I don't listen to classical music that much," he defended himself. He was more into jazz and old blues. He almost let out that he knew the use Dom preferred for his hot tub but held it in as he remembered who else was around. "I'll take the good drinks and friends though," he conceded. It wasn't a party without people.
He watched as Lindsey tasted the drink. Zach did not fully trust Dom. He could have a heavy hand, especially on purpose. He would be disappointed if he thought that would make him more sociable. He gently tried his. It was strong but tolerable. "You didn't do your worst just yet, that's good." He might have said that, but Dom did add more alcohol than anything else in his drink. He would have to sip gently if he didn't want it to get to his head in an instant.

Dominic was aware that it wasn’t usually Zachariah’s cup of tea to attend to his party and making a calmer one might only convince him furthermore to come even for a little. It was going to be entertaining for sure, especially knowing that Lindsey and Eleanor Bates were invited too and came. He wondered for a few moments about if Ellie would actually come or not, knowing that she was of Zach’s nature but she did and it pleased him. Besides, the person that Kai brought with him was also in their lines so having a bunch of introverts together would do the trick right? Not to add that his sister was there too so it wouldn’t fret her to know that it wasn’t going to be too much of a wild fest.
He watched over them from afar as he was making the drinks, talking to Kai and other people in the meantime. Ellie nodded at Zach and smiled as he referred her return to the studios. “Indeed, it has been a while, and feels good to be back there.” She admitted. She did miss this after all and she had missed music so much. Lindsey was letting the chit-chat happening until Zach talked to her and nodded. “I have and hired a lawyer.” She said. She did talk with her family about it and she wanted to keep her rights over her song after all. She still had her to-do list to go through but it was a start and she still had to work on her designs too. Dominic went back with the drinks and the girls tasted theirs. “That’s caring of you.” Said Ellie as he told her he didn’t add alcohol only to smirk when Zach complimented him on his light hand. “Of course not, it’d be boring otherwise.” He said.

Zach would know everyone at the party, if only from name and reputation. He would make sure to know about Dom's entourage, as he didn't want any to cause unnecessary scandal. Having magazines report that Dom hosted a party was in line with his personality and image, it was fine, but he didn't need too much controversy. There was one girl he didn't seem to know but she looked quiet and was not sticking to Dom so he figured she was a guest's plus one.
He nodded to Ellie. If she were anything like Dom, she would have missed recording and doing shows. She didn't appear as much of a show-off, but it was her job and from the conversation he had with her, she seemed to really like it, and like her band. He was also glad to hear that Lindsey followed his advice. She might have been pissed by it but she listened, it was all that mattered. And now it reminded Zach of why he needed Dom in such events. He would talk of topics that would likely bore guests the likes of Lindsey. Dom was the party animal and needed to come over.
He did, with drinks. Quite strong drinks. Zach would need to keep an eye on whatever Dom would give him and be suspicious of it. He also wanted to talk to him, call him out on his little ploy, but he couldn't do that in front of the ladies. It would be rude to accuse Dom of scheming to get Zach and Lindsey together with her around. He intended to ask him what this was about as soon as he could get him in a corner.

Lindsey wouldn’t consider Zach to be as boring as he claimed he would be. She was there with Ellie and enjoying the little chit-chat though, it was true that she would rather enjoy herself by the pool work on her tan, and talk to her sister or the other guests that were there. She might have come for Zach as Dominic insisted that he was there as a guest but she also wanted to enjoy herself. Might as well make the most of it. The party was only starting and people had their first drinks. There was nothing scandalous about it yet. She didn’t think that Ellie would bear wild parties so she was glad that it was a toned-down one and just seemed to be a friendly gathering by a pool.
Dominic joined them with their drinks and she approved of his choices. “Thanks, that’s refreshing.” She said to him which nodded to her in a way that showed he took her compliment well. Ellie approved of it too and smiled at Dominic which he returned to. She was his polar opposite, to say the least and he wasn’t sure how to converse with her outside of the studio so he was hoping that the chilling area would put her at ease and having Lindsey around would surely help on the matter. “I have some lounging chairs over there if you want to sunbathe or others in the shades.” He added pointing to another area. There were chairs of all sorts, Dom liked to chill by the pool, he even had one chair that you could literally lay on it, looking like a bed that gave off Bali vibes. Lindsey smiled and nodded. “Awesome, I need to work on my tan, I’m rather bland.” Said Lindsey already liking where this party was leading to. There was a time for fun later. For now, they could relax and enjoy the sun and the day.

Zach was good at humouring rich, influencial people while conversing with them. He did it all his life, as he came from one such family. He knew how to talk business, he knew how to be a bit more casual. But the people here weren't that kind of crowd, if they did have money. They were no businessmen or entrepreneurs. They weren't big producers or CEOs. Zach needed to adjust himself to the crowd, but it proved hard, as he was far more comfortable in his business mode than this. If he wanted to chill, he would go to jazz club, a gym or watch a movie on his own. Not much of that.
Somehow, Dom felt quiet to him. He knew the guy for yeards, longer than his career for sure, and he rarely saw him like that. He frowned as he wondered what that was about. But Lindsey said something about being bland. "I doubt anyone here would ever call you that," he argued. She was no soubt the bombshell here and if her sister proved to be rather appealing too and could attract attention, all eyes would turn on Lindsey, with or without more tan. He would let her go to a lounging chair if she wanted though. He didn't see why she would stick around him.

Dominic was aware that Zach wasn’t into the kind of crowd that he had invited him to it was why he gave him a drink and spiked it up on purpose, giving him one of his ‘special blends’ only he knew secret of. He needed to loosen up or else Lindsay would slip away from him. He wasn’t blind, he noticed how his friend looked at her and it was a wonder to him as to why he hadn’t made a move yet. She’d get tired of chasing him constantly, no doubts. Who knows, maybe it would be a nudge that they both needed and it was also a way for him to be with Ellie and get to know her outside from work.
Lindsey smiled a bit as Zach objected that she wasn’t bland. “I still need to work on my tan, image is still important.” She didn’t do it to get attention or force a compliment from Zach on her and she was pleased that he did even if it was in an indirect manner. Ellie smiled a bit at her sister before she paid attention to the drink that Dominic served her. It wasn’t bad and she was thankful that it didn’t have alcohol in it either. “Thank you for the drink, it’s good.” She said to him, which he smiled sheepishly at her. “Got a little experience in the cocktail brewing.” He said unashamedly of having held a lot of extravagant parties in the past.

Was Lindsey really there for him? After their last meeting, he would have thought she was a tad angry towards him and wouldn't want to spend time at a party with him. No, she had to have come because it was a party and because she wanted to take her sister out more. Dominic did imply that she knew he'd be there though, so Zach had to assume that she either got over their discussion or was ready to ignore it for today. Either was fine by him, although he would have to remember not to talk as a manager so much. And go easy on anything Dominic would serve him, because that drink was strong!
Zach was about to agree with Lindsey and point out how sometimes, image was everything, but he stopped himself, as it might sound to manager-like. Instead, he focused on Dominic. "Another one of your random passions you chose to pick up," he pointed out. He could easily hire someone to make drinks, he didn't need to be there serving them. Maybe he wouldn't all day, but he chose to make some custome drinks specifically for them. It was weird though, because Dominic didn't sound like he was boasting as much. Zach would have thought that he would have, yet it sounded more like he justified himself for making good cocktails. Zach stared at his friend, wondering what was going on.

Unlike what Zach thought, Lindsey did partly come for him, even if she was still angry at him from their last meeting. She was going to show everyone who didn’t give her the credit that she could build her own fashion company if she liked and she was working hard on it. The party was also a good way for her to vent the stress away and to make sure that Ellie went back to having a social life. Besides, from what she could tell, that party didn’t have too many extroverts and she had no trouble in getting the ambiance if Dominic asked her to. She remembered that the Asian boy who wasn’t too far from them was also the kind to enjoy the party too. Dominic chuckled as he watched Zach drinking the drink he served him. He might not take many drinks but he was willing to go heavy on alcohol just to see his friend letting go of his stuck-up attitude for once.
Dominic shrugged as he talked about making cocktails. “It’s fun and I think I’m pretty decent at it, so far no one complained about it.” He said with a grin. He could tell that Zach was eying him and that he might not be too subtle at his actions but he didn’t care, as long as the girls didn’t seem to notice the matter he was good. “If you need a tour of the yard I can show you but Zach already knows it too I didn’t change anything to it since last time you came.” He said as he looked back at his friend. The girls nodded discussing where they wanted to go. Lindsey noticed the spa and looked at Ellie. “Look you can get in there if you are having troubles with your legs.” She said with a smile as she dragged her around. Dominic couldn’t hold back a smirk as they were looking away and he let them head towards the lounging chairs by the pool so they could work on their tan and enjoy their drinks. Looks like things were starting well for him.
