One meeting with Beatrice's parents had been enough to tell Kai all he needed to know about them and get an opinion of them: he didn't like them. He also noted how they made their daughter feel. She tried to be nice and defend them but they clearly gnawed at her self-confidence until their was next to nothing left. Kai had seen people like that before and was certain that whatever progress Bea would make could be crushed in just one meeting with them. It was why he gave her his number and said she just needed to call or text him if it got too heavy and she needed a way out. She may be too embarrassed to ask Minori, but he was her boss, so to speak, and would have a legitimate reason to take her away if he wanted to, more than just having planned something already. It was work after all, it was important.
He was getting ready to leave the house when he got her call. She was panicking a bit. He didn't know what her parents were up to but it clearly was more than just say she should do a more fulfilling career or get married. They didn't have time to explain what happened exactly, he just asked for her location. He then dropped his things in his car and went there as quickly as he could.
They complained that he needed to get her out, said he texted her they had a job and she gave him the address so he could pick her and not really caring what her parents may have more to say, left with her. He didn't try to fight, simply explained how there was work to do and, to save time since she had no car, picked her up. He didn't want to fight anyway.
Obviously, there was no work. He drove though, to where he was leaving to before her call: Dom's place. "You wanted me to help you and I was invited here, so you come too. It'll be fine," he said as they finally arrived. Until then, he had kept quiet as to the location, just telling her that he had to go somewhere if she didn't mind. As expected, she didn't or just didn't fight it and so here she was, ready to get to a pool party held by a very famous singer, with lots of other celebrities around.

It took a lot to Beatrice to actually call Kai. She never did this just because she felt like seeing him. She didn’t want to abuse of his kindness but when she had been with her parents, they had lashed out on her. Usually she could stand their criticisms but they went too far claiming that they didn’t recognize their sweet Beatrice from when she was younger and that she was seeing people who were sinful and that she should at last settle down and get rid of that job. It was a silly dream, why was she holding onto it while she could do something less superficial and do something good of her life. It was when she told them that she needed to use the bathroom and called Kai. She couldn’t take it and was about to have a breakdown. She was a bit embarrassed to have called him but in no time he was there, getting her out of this hell and she was now into his car, driving towards somewhere else.
She didn’t know that he was heading to a party. If it was the case, she probably wouldn’t have even called because she didn’t want to disturb him or be a burden to him. She apologized to him as he said that they were heading towards a party but didn’t argue much. She was still a bit on the edge and needed to relax. She just didn’t know that they were heading somewhere filled with famous people.
The further away from her parents she would be, the better she would feel. They arrived and she walked out of the place, expecting to be in a big house. Hers wasn’t a small one either after all. She could hear music around and a few chatters coming from the backyard and started wondering if she was better at her parents’.

Kai knew that Dominic would not object to him bringing a date, so to speak. Dom was even more of a social butterfly than he was. On top of that, Beatrice was no paparazzo or one of those gold diggers trying to get their five minutes of fame by sticking to a more famous person. She was not trying to start a career by talking to the people here. He was certain it would be alright. She may be a bit shy, especially since he didn't know if she'd know anyone here. Maybe some, maybe she did the makeup on them or maybe she recalled them from when Kai or another person did an interview with them. But he doubted she talked to them. Well, now would be her chance. Or he could just hang out in a corner. Whatever happened, it couldn't be wore than being stuck with her parents.
He laughed as she apologized. "What for? It's not like we'll be turned down at the door because you're here. And you look like you could use some fun." He somehow doubted they had the same definition of fun, but that would be a nice change of pace. There wasn't more different from a meal with her parents than a party at Dominic's place.
He saw her hesitate as she looked at the place. He grabbed his stuff and, with an encouraging smile, extended a hand towards her. "Come on. It'll be alright. At worse, it will be like during runways with people barely paying attention to you." Wouldn't she like that?

Beatrice was glad that Kai didn’t seem to take it the wrong way that she had called him despite the fact that he was heading towards a party. She didn’t expect to tag along but it seemed that lately, she was getting to know him better and indeed tagging along with him wherever he went. It was funny, now that you thought of that how he went from co-worker to a friend. She never thought she would say that from someone she could call a boss. She shook that thought away as she looked at the big house and Kai said that it would be fine if she went there.
“That’s true.” She admitted when he mentioned that she could use a bit of fun. She just wasn’t sure what kind of fun they were going to have there, especially now that she did not know whose house it was. It’s not like they knew the address of all of the famous people and she couldn’t blame them from wanting their privacy either.
“Alright.” She finally said, mentally praying for there not being too many people. She then went by his side and gathered her courage up. What worse could happen there?

It was true that Kai could have just dropped her elsewhere. Her place, a restaurant, or even just on a corner of a busy street, wherever she'd be fine leaving. But he decided that she would accomapny him. He knew it could be tough for her to be with so many people but she asked for his help and now she was tuck with him, wherever he was going. She should count herself lucky. He could have taken her to far more stressful places.
At least she was agreeing with him without him having to drag her along and take her by the shoulders and push her in the right direction. He maybe should have told her whose house it was, but he didn't care. She would find out soon enough. Anyway, if she were to talk to Dom, he bet it would be because the guy came to speak to him and she was sticking to his side. She probably wouldn't even open her mouth to say more than a few pleasantries.
The party was only starting. "What is that? So few people. Are you getting wiser and quieter with age?" he teased Dom as they approached the guy. Beatrice was still by his side. As he said, he expected her to do a lot of that. It was relatively quiet for now but Kai did expect that it was more because everyone had yet arrived and not because Dom wanted a private party between selected friends.

Bea had to admit that she did wonder whose house it was and it didn’t take her long to figure out that it belonged to no one but Dominic Smith. He was flamboyant, even if a swimming suit and she wondered how a man could do that. “Kai!” He said patting the guy on the shoulder. “I’m glad you could make it, you brought a date?” He asked her as he eyed Beatrice. “Welcome to my palace, if you want my sister can give you a quick tour.” He suggested to Beatrice. He didn’t think his friends would bring people who would post unwanted pictures of them at the party. Beatrice took this in consideration and she could barely process the fact that she was just labeled as Kai’s date when Dom asked for Audrey to come.
The black haired girl showed up and smiled sweetly at Beatrice. “Hi.” She said before she waved her hand at Kai too and in no time, Bea was taken away from Kai to be shown around the most important places of the house such as the kitchen, the bathroom for guests and the living room area where there was the karaoke. Dom smirked a bit when he saw the two girls walking away. “I didn’t know you were seeing someone and I can tell we have similar tastes.” He added with an approving nod. She did appear as someone shy to him but he didn’t mind and thought she would get along well with Audrey and probably with Eleanor Bates too. “A few people are yet to come but you’re right, it’s a smaller party.” He added.

Trust Dom to wear as little clothes as possible while greeting his guests. It was true that it was a pool party and people were expected to have bathing suits, but he was not trying to look more decent at first before changinng, he went straight for the suit to remind everyone what they were expected to do at the party. Kai had no problem with that, but it did amused him. He had no problem either as they patted each other on the back as a form of hug to greet each other.
He then mentioned his date and he turned towards Beatrice. How would she react to being known as his 'date'? Might as well go even further then. "She's a princess I saved from another castle," he said, trying to make a lame joke reference to Super Mario there. He knew she'd be embarrassed but that would be out and Dom would just laugh it off himself. She didn't need to take it seriously when these two were involved and she might as well learn it as soon as possible.
When Audrey showed up, he greeted her with enthusiasm, asking how she was doing as he gave her a quick hug. Apparently, Audrey agreed to show Beatrice around before Kai even had the time to properly introduce her. No matter, no doubt he would with Audrey. Off they were to see the house, or at least the places they could go for the party.
He laughed at Dom's reference. He didn't get he was implying being in love just yet, he picked on the fact he thought Kai was. "Easy now. She's just the makeup artist on my show. She was having a terrible day and thought she could use a break." No need to start that kind of rumours, Beatrice would just die. "Since when you do things small?" he asked, as they talked of the party.

Bea was a bit shy when she arrived at Dominic’s place. She knew who he was the moment she saw him and she wasn’t used to meeting big names around L.A. Sure she worked with artists and the likes but she was mostly on television and the shows she was doing weren’t exactly with utterly famous people. Dominic was amongst those people who were untouchable because they were so very talented with what they were doing. No doubts there would be other people who are just as talented as he is. She didn’t react over the fact that he was wearing little clothing though, even if she wasn’t used to it and it was mostly due to the fact that Kai told her pool party. She expected to see the man in a bathing suit and she shyly greeted him when Kai introduced her like a princess. She never thought of herself that way.
Dom let it go for now when Kai said that she wasn’t one of his dates and looked at his house when Kai questioned him. “I invited a few people who are not comfortable around larger crowds and it’s easier to get to know them better when the party isn’t as big as what I usually throw.” He explained to Kai. He invited his good friend Zach and Eleanor and his sister. He happened to be gladly surprised there when he found out that Kai’s date happened to fit the mold with the people he invited. Surely, Audrey would enjoy the celebrations better in this smaller party of his.
Bea was shown around the house and talked a bit with Audrey. She liked the girl and thought she didn’t look so alike Dominic but they were still siblings.

Not all of Kai's friends were famous but he happened to invite her to one. He could have brought her to a non-famous one as well, it was not an issue to him, but Dom was the one who invited him to a party today and he decided to bring Bea with him when she asked for his help. He knew she was nervous around people and expected this to make it worse for her but he also thought it could be good for her. Plus he'd be there if she needed some support. Dom also brought up his sister. She was a lot more calm than her brother and that might be better for Bea. He was not surprised that she said nothing about the guy so little dressed. She wouldn't dare, even if she was clearly intimidated by being there.
He was curious as Dom said he invited other more introverted people. "You know that many like this?" It was a bit of a tease but it was also something that surprised him. Also the fact that he did something for them. "A part of introverts. We'll be the odd ones out." They clearly were not like that for sure. Kai was not too worried about Bea. He knew Audrey, she was a good person and Bea was so agreeable that he didn't think it could go wrong. Worst case scenario, she'd cling to him secretly hoping for Kai to picked up on her thoughts where she'd be asking for them to leave.

Dominic never minded having a few extra people to his parties. They generally tended to make things even more interesting. He eyed Beatrice before she went off with his sister and she seemed to fit with a few people he had invited so she wouldn’t suffer much from being around wild ones. He had been careful this time, if he wanted to try to get attention from Lindsey’s sister, it was one step towards there. Having another girl who seemed to fit the personality only was a bonus to him. “Not a lot of people are like us, we’ll need to keep them entertained, I’m afraid.” He said overly dramatic. It was going to be a nice afternoon and he wouldn’t mind if it lasted till later the evening.
Beatrice was done visiting parts of the house she was allowed to go to and talked a bit with Audrey. The girl made her feel comfortable and she was thankful of it. She didn’t know who else was going to be in there but she supposed that she could expect anything coming from someone like Dominic. She was a bit worried but she tried it not to ruin her day.

Kai knew Beatrice had not been invited but he doubted Dominic would mind he arrived with a guest. It was not like this was a private dinner with a specific amount of chairs for the guests. One more wouldn't change much, especially one like Beatrice. Kai did wonder if he should not go after her. Audrey was a nice girl but Beatrice was so nervous all the time and could be easily scared. She had to deal with her parents just before coming here, so she had dealt with a lot today already. Maybe he should keep her company before she gets too intimidated by it all. That would mean not staying here as long as he'd normally do, he assumed, but he was ready for it.
Dominic was being dramatic for the sake of entertainment, making him laugh. "Any reason why you chose that kind of party? Wanted to make sur eyour agent will show up for more than crashing it?" Dominic was not exactly known for doing things small, at least he didn't have the image of one who would.
After a while, Kai looked around again to see if Beatrice had returned. Was she hiding in some corner? He thought it was the kind of thing she could do. "I think I should probably go check how my 'plus one' is doing. She was pretty shaken before coming here, I don't want her to be stressed out somewhere." He didn't want to ditch Dominic if he still wanted to talk to him though. Then again, Dom was the host, he was expected to talk to everyone and no doubt they would still have a chance later.

Dominic smirked a little when Kai questioned him about the reasons of doing a smaller party. He had a lot, but he wasn’t going to openly admit the main one which was to see if he could get to know Ellie better. He was confident that Lindsey would be down to come and drag along her sister if he said that Zach was there. He was going to play his cards well there, and he knew how to do it. He couldn’t say that he was good at manipulating people but he certainly knew what to do to convince them to come at their parties. He smiled a bit mischievously at his friend. “Oh I do but I can’t say anything yet, though we won’t be the only one, I brought a third that will help us entertain the others.” He said referring to Lindsey there, knowing that the girl was willing to do stuff more than the rest of his calmer friends. He wasn’t against someone like Beatrice to be there, she looked nervous but he knew that Audrey had the aura to calm people down. He was proud of his sister, that’s for sure. “With a few drinks, he’ll even forget that he wanted to leave.” He said teasingly not saying aloud that with Lindsey around, she would definitely make sure that he wouldn’t leave as soon as he would normally.
Beatrice was with Audrey and had finished the tour of the house. It certainly was a nice one, though her parents’ house was big, it certainly wasn’t as big as this one and it made her wonder now that she knew how Audrey was related to Dominic since they shared very different personalities. Then again, she did live with two people who were far more sociable than she was. She was surviving so far even though she was with a lot of people she didn’t know personally.
Dominic nodded. “No problem, I’m still waiting for the rest of my guests to arrive, make yourself home.” He wasn’t going to say that to a lot of people but he knew that Kai wouldn’t steal anything from him anyway. Audrey was showing to Beatrice a nice spot outside with the right amount of shade and was explaining to her that she liked relaxing here, when the weather was nice. Bea had to admit that it was indeed a nice spot, she might even take some time here if she could as she was starting to calm down. Audrey smiled and said to the girl that she could always burrow her a swimming suit if she wanted to enjoy the spa or the pool. Beatrice thanked her, glad that there was someone like Audrey around.

Kai had no idea about his friend's latest fascination for Eleanor Bates. He didn't know it could be a good enough reason for him to try and do something that was still in his character but on a mmore mellow level to not intimate her too much. Kai would also argue that Ellie should be used to big events anyway, but all in all, this smaller party served him well too, since that could put Beatrice more at ease as well. Dom claimed he had many reasons though and the way he said it both intrigued and amused Kai. "Oh really? What do you have up your sleeve thsi time?" Having people like them, more sociable, were very important at parties, otherwise everyone would remain in their corner and talk only to the people they know. He wondered who that third person may be.
Kai arched an eyebrow, unsure whether was Dom said could be believed. It was true that he didn't see his manager/friend a whole lot but he looked like the level-headed type and not the kind he'd imagine would drink a whole lot and party like a wild animal.
Leaving his friend, he went to look out for Beatrice. He knew they went inside but he didn't know exactly where she would be. Anyway, he was in no big hurry. After a little bit of walking and calling out, he spotted the two at a spot a bit further away from the rest of the people already here. "Hey there ladies," he aid as he got close enough to be heard by them. "You've found yourselves a nice, quiet spot I see." He was not here to force Beatrice to join the others and socialize, he just wanted to make sure she was alright, and not alone. He didn't think it was a smart thing to do, to leave her alone, even if she may prefer it to being around everyone else.

Beatrice did attend to some receptions and parties but they were definitely not like ones that Dominic Smith could throw. She wasn’t stupid and knew the rumors of him hosting the wildest parties around LA. So far, though, it didn’t seem to be too bad and since she knew there was a quieter spot she could resource herself into if she needed it, it made her feel better. She also enjoyed talking to Audrey and hoped that he had invited more people like her, not knowing there wasn’t going to only have him and Kai as famous people around. Speaking of which, he was still talking with the host, who only smirked and winked at his friend. “You will see.” He said mischievously. It was going to be a fun time, even if it meant having a smaller party and in fact, having someone like Kai’s whatever date was probably good for him too.
She didn’t mean to stay in the back though, but it sure made her nervous not to know a lot of the people there, even if they were famous. They weren’t mean, she knew it but it was very intimidating to be surrounded by superstars while she was a nobody. His sister managed to reassure her and it helped a lot. She smiled at Kai as he came back feeling a bit more relaxed and Audrey also smiled at him, waving her hand at him in a welcoming gesture. “Hello, it’s a nice place I have to say. I might borrow one of your suits later if I feel like taking a dip in the pool.” She said to Audrey. She was feeling more comfortable but not enough yet to be exposed in front of others, especially people who had a perfect body. She had to work hard not to compare herself to all of them that were around her.

Kai had no idea if Beatrice attended to pool parties, especially those held by the likes of Dom. He saw her parents. They looked pretty snob, but it could just be a style and not a proper reflection of their income and status. And he assumed that even a self-absorbed celebrity wouldn't request a makeup artist to follow them to such a place to help them look good. But she could attended runways or photoshoots that matched that style, or worked on a show. It wasn't like he knew all of her working experience, they just happened to meet on the same show.
He was curious as to what Dom had in mind for today. There didn't seem to be as many people invited as it was sometimes the case with him, nor did it look as grandiose and wild. There was a pool though, and muic, and drinks and company, so what else was really needed? Since he was not the host, Kai saw no point in sticking around to see who else would show up and went looking for Beatrice. He hoped she was less nervous now and had managed to forget what it was that got her to call him and come here with him.
He was glad to see she seemed to get along well with Audrey. Bea was taller than the other girl but surely they could find something that would fit. Kai tried not to smirk at the thought it would probably have to be a bikini for that to work. In a way, he kind of wanted to see if she'd dare. "Feeling a bit better?" he asked Beatrice, his head leaning towards her as he spoke. He didn't want her to leave the stress her parents put on her only to get nervous for an entirely different reason.
