Franck startled slightly at her choice of words. It could have been worse, she could have been more explicit. While Franck did not hide his homosexuality, to have it thrown at his face like that was weird to him. He didn't use it as part of his identity. Sure, it was, in a way, as it represented who he was attracted to, but he was so much more than that. He also didn't want directors to stop casting him for certain roles because he was supposed to be in love with a woman. He could play that, the whole thing was an act after all. He didn't want to be told it was not believable because everyone identified him as gay. Still, getting what she said, he smiled and nodded, relaxing over the matter. "I don't know how many people would buy that," he admitted. Maybe his mother, who was still wishing so hard for a change in her son. Other than her however, he doubted a lot of people would believe in this.
He laughed as she called that dull. It was. "It's msotly annoying because it always comes from people who are in a relationship or doesn't care about it themselves," he pointed out. Some people liked to flirt or were not looking for something serious. It was the hardest thing for Franck, whenever he was looking for a boyfriend. He always ended up being interested in the guy who didn't want something serious.
Franck was happy to switch to a new spot. He didn't relax like that often, let alone in good company, and it was fun to enjoy as much as this place had to offer before they would have to go. He made sure to keep Casey near him as they moved around.

Casey didn’t doubt Franck’s acting skills, after all, she saw it on screen how good he could be of a lover for both genders. She thought that it’d be unfair if someone didn’t want to hire him because he was homosexual. Besides, it wasn’t the reason why she was friends with him; she thought that both of their personalities matched well in terms of friendship but as he said, no one would have bought that if they were to fake being in love. “I don’t think we could act that well.” She said with a chuckle as she looked at her friend in an amusing way. Not when it was already out in the media.
She nodded, agreeing with him. “I know I have to give it time, and I’m not trying to rush myself into a relationship. I never thought it’d be ready to get into one any time soon either.” She admitted to Franck. Sure, flirting was fun when you were compatible with someone but even that, she preferred to stay away from. They wanted to get to a new area and she glanced at him. “You want the saunas or the spas?” She asked him, as she herself debated over the question. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to get soaked in water but getting soaked in warmth did sound like a good idea. If only they didn’t have to go through the temperature clash after that!

Perhaps Franck should play a gay man one day, but he was also afraid to, as he didn't want it to justify casting agency to send him only that type of roles from then on. He didn't get why so many people were talkign as though only a gay person could play a gay character, or even shaped the character based off of the actor playing them. It was a role.
Maybe at other times, people could have thought they were lovers. They could be seen together a lot. But their friendship was well known and there was nothing more to it. There couldn't be, when Casey was not of the right gender for him. He chuckled, as he agreed that no level of acting on their part would make it believable.
He could sympathize with her feelings. "As long as you go at your own rhythm. Do not listen to anyone saying it's either too soon or that you should do it already. You know when you're ready." How serious her relationship would have been? They'll never know, but it was easy to idealize it now that he was gone, to imagine it had been that perect relationship. Nothing was perfect. Nor she should try to compare any future relationship with the one she lost. She had to view it as its own thing, when that would happen.
It was about time to resume their spa treatment. She asked what might interest him the most. He took the time to think about it. "With what he had so far, maybe it's best to leave soaking in water for later?"

Casey nodded, she felt terrible for her loss, that was a certainty and she didn’t know if she was ready to get her head into another relationship but she was enjoying her time with Akeem too. As odd as it might sound, it was different than dating someone who was as famous as her last boyfriend. She didn’t date for fame though, she dated for love. She would never pull a stunt just to get people’s attention. She was aware of how a few of her colleagues could be like that. Hollywood could sometimes be nasty when it came to competition. She liked to think that even if she was someone grand, she still was grounded. She may be a diva but she was careful with other’s feelings too.
“I will.” She said to him with a warm smile. It was funny to her how some people back then thought that they were dating. They could’ve have, had she not been a guy. It had her wonder if Franck would have dated her then. It would have to be a question for later! “Besides, I like taking my time, sometimes, it feels like I need to rush everything, I don’t want to rush that.”
She laughed a bit and nodded, not minding much. They could just sit and relax for a few moments before going back to the baths for the hot and cold therapy. “Anyways, we’re not in a rush for once.” She agreed.

Franck had to admit that he felt a small pang throughout their conversation. He was less ready to admit it could be envy though. He struggled finding partners, mainly because he was not looking for something casual. He would be unable to do that, he'd cling onto the other guy. Was it his problem, that he was falling too fast and too hard? In contrast, maybe Casey was too unwilling to jump? But he could understand she was reluctant, she was still hurt. He wanted her to know she should take the time she needed before falling in love again. But, maybe, he felt a little envious that she had that chance. He didn't quite see it for himself just yet.
"I know what you mean. I'm a pro at rushing things, and it rarely ends well." Franck still ahd a few scars from previous relationships. He couldn't help it though, no matter how many times he told himself to take his time, he was rushing ahead at the first sign things were going well. "At least he's reminding you that people will still fall for you and that love is possible. The rest, well, it's on you to see if you're ready for it and if that would be with him. Not that I like that saying but 'getting back on the horse as soon as possible'... or something like that." Franck couldn't say he knew sayings too well.
He smiled again as he nodded to her. "Like you said. I'll be ready whenever you are." Franck may love taking care of the people around him but he also enjoyed being pampered and he intended to fully enjoy their time at the spa.

Casey was wishing all the best for Franck too; she believed that it should be his time to shine, eventually. Hopefully, he would find the right boyfriend. She knew how hard love could be and how life could be unpredictable. She was the perfect example of it. The downside of fame was that everyone knew about your personal story and you had to find a way to tell others about it because they wanted to know. Sometimes, she would give an interview, others, she would rather not because she was too fragile. She had her ups and downs and hopefully, there would be more ups than downs.
“I get that, and I feel like I’m being the opposite, literally, being too slow and not completely ready for it.” She said with a sigh. Sure, there was a small hope there but she would often jump back and forth. There were times when she was feeling confident about it, others, felt like taking a few steps back and restraining herself. It was funny, especially considering how confident she could be in normal days!
She nodded with him, he was right, she had other chances at love and she’d just have to think it through if she was ready for it or not. She still appreciated being around Akeem as he was more down to earth than other celebrities but that probably came from the fact he wasn’t all that famous in the first place. She was fine with that, just as well as she was fine if he turned out to be famous in the end, as long as it didn’t change him too much! “Wonderful.” She said, wanting to enjoy her day off as much as she could as well. Being in good company only helped!

Just as he thought, Casey felt she was too slow at trusting others and give her heart away. "You've gone through a lot already, it's only normal to be a little fearful." Was it really just a fear that Akeem, or anyone else who might capture her heart someday, could leave or die or anything like that? Because it was a possibility every time, regardless of it actually happening to you in the past or not. Then again, thinking of a hypothetical heartache and having lived it and keeping a memory of the pain was different. Still, Franck could see a difference in characters between them here. It was not quite comparable, but he too could have grown on the defensive when it came to trusting others, with his strained relationship with his mother. Despite that, despite the pain and betrayal that he felt there, he chose to believe the next person he would trust wouldn't do that. And they did, but he still wanted to believe it. Casey apparently needed more of a push. "I might not just be because of that too. Some people need more time to trust others, or need to be certain of their feelings before expressing them. There's nothing wrong with that. At least you'll know, regardless of the outcome."
He could see a downside to it though, Akeem leaving because he didn't think she was interested enough or he was done waiting for her and Casey ending up alone again and more hurt. "Just, maybe, don't simply stand there on the sidewalk too afraid to do anything, because you will regret that too." She surely experienced it in the past, not daring to share her feelings to a boy who walked away, totally unaware. Franck knew he did.
On this depressing thought though, he was ready for them to keep on with their spa day. He didn't care what people might say, having a moment to relax without feeling like he needed to work or watch his image felt good. It wasn't always easy to do alone already, it was almost impossible to find the time to do it with a friend, and he got to enjoy both today. He was going to make the most of it.

Casey knew that. That it was normal she would take her time. She just wasn’t sure what she should be doing. Was she ready to go back and fall in love again? She wasn’t sure. She was afraid she would lose what she cared for again and it was quite a scary thought. She often had nightmares that her closest friends and family would go through what her boyfriend went through. She sighed, thinking it through. There was so much she needed to consider at the time. She also wondered if Akeem was hitting on her, or if all she did was indeed because she cared for him more than others. She had no clear ideas. “I do need time to think it through. Especially considering how famous I am I can’t tell sometimes if people are nice to me because of my fame or if it’s because they want to truly be my friends.” She doubted Akeem was like that, considering the few times they met, but sometimes, there also was that small voice that resonated in the back of her mind.
She understood what Franck implied there. “What do you think I should do? I’m not even sure he is interested in me that way.” She admitted. Doubting was so annoying when it came to romance. Was she imagining things? Was it because she wasn’t ready? She knew she would have to make a move if he truly interested her though. Would he accept her despite her fame? Some people prefer not to be with famous actors because they might end up too jealous and couldn’t handle it.
“Love certainly is complicated.” She finally said, now that she was ready to go back to relaxing. It was nice to have conversations like those with Franck. She also hoped they’d find their loved ones soon enough. It could be fun to go on double dates!

Yes, Franck knew this job did not always make it easy to trust others. There would always be so many people agreeing to everything you would say or do only to remain in your entourage. Or pretend they were doing things with your best interest at heart when they were only considering how they could benefit from it. "I know it's not always easy but only surface-level relationships isn't the way to go," he pointed out. He didn't need to add more, she certainly knew that already but needed to vent it out.
Franck couldn't help chuckling a bit at her comment. "Believe me, if he's going out of his way to talk to you, he has some interest in you. And if he ever starts putting distance between the two of you, he either thinks he is being friendzoned and doesn't like it, or he is actually playing in my league and was only interested to work with you. In that case... maybe you should introduce him to me." He was joking with the last bit and laughed some more to emphasize this.
They were ready to go for another treatment now. She summed up the situation nicely. "It sure is. You'd think we found a way to make it easier, with how much we need it in our lives, but no."
