Dominic had been sitting at the bar and was waiting for his friend Zach to come and meet up with him. They had been planning an album with collabs with various artists and Dominic had found a few who wanted to collaborate with him already. He was excited to tell to his friend who was up to do duets with him so far. Besides, speaking of the duets, he had written a song or two already. When he had met Eleanor, he had been inspired and he worked immediately on a song and two and ended up writing five in total. He never thought he’d be inspired by someone, but she seemed to have shaken something in him and it helped him to write songs which he had in his note book that he had with him. He wanted to ask for Zach’s opinion.
He had a beer at hand and was actually working on the duet that he was going to do with her. He hoped that she would like it. He didn’t know why he was so conscious about it but he was. Anyways, he wanted his album to sound great so he decided that it was for that reason that he worried about the quality of his songs. He took a sip and looked at his phone to check the time when he finished correcting a few verses and thinking of the melody. Might as well be productive while waiting for Zach.

Zach shoudn't be surprised Dom chose a bar for them to have a meeting. He should actually be grateful it was not a nightclub where he decided to party with twenty or more people. Sometimes, Dom really looked like he didn't take anything seriously, but Zach knew he was acting this way only because he knew he could rest on him for all those serious things. Still, sometimes Zach really wished he could be a little more serious.
He wanted to talk about his new project. While Zach had no problem promoting a special album with collabs, this was more a publicity stunt and some thrilling adventure for Dom than anything else. He could not go touring with that album, unless he managed to get one person to sing in duet with him on all the songs. Still, he supposed this coul bring in some good money... if he could get the collabs for a cheap price.
At the bar, Dom was already here. Zach walked towards him. "It's impressive, you've arrived before me. That has to be a first," he said as welcome. They knew each other long enough not to care about familiarity. "Then again, there's alcohol so I should not be surprised," he added before ordering a glass of red wine. "Remind me why we couldn't do that in my office, or your place?" He felt like it would have been better.

Dom closed his note book when he finally saw Zach arriving. Sometimes he could be too serious and he thought that a bar would be the perfect place for them to talk about that project. Sure, it might be a publicity stunt but he thought it could be fun and get him in touch with various artists. Sure, going on tours was great and was what gave you the money but he also liked projects of the likes. It allowed him to meet fellow artists and it was fun, which was something Zach had trouble having lately. He was always so serious! Too serious for his own good and that’s why he said that the bar was a good place, well, there was still a dance floor and it was still a club but he stayed in the calmer area where you could have a drink and chit chat while in the other room it was a full house party. He liked going to such place since it meant he wouldn’t have to get a maid to clean up after him or offend his sister either.
He glanced at him and smirked when Zach mentioned alcohol. “Hey, I’m not an alcoholic at last.” He said, which was the truth. He enjoyed drinking and parties but he didn’t do this on a daily basis. He could stay clean when he needed to. “Boring and boring.” He said referring to Zach’s office and his place. “Besides, you need to get out of your office too.” He added. He never liked being serious for too long or too serious either. Life would suck otherwise!
He then lifted his hand at the bar tender to get Zach a drink. “I got a few new songs in hand and a few people who want to collab with me for the album.” He said to Zach when he showed Zach his book. He trusted his friend with this.

Zach was used to how their team worked: Dom came up with the crazy ideas, the creativity and had the fun while Zach made sure all of this was possible. As for what he gained in return, since he was not exactly in rock or pop music, it was more the chance to make a fortune by himself and not through his father. He knew he was not as rich as the old man, or what he could have been had he chose to work for the family business, but he liked his job and lifestyle. He might have more sober tastes than Dom, they were still very expensive.
Zach was glad Dom was alone. He hated when he was supposed to meet someone for business and they had their entourage with them. It was not serious at all, not to add that they could meddle in and bring unrealistic ideals in the artist's head. Luckily, Dom was also a close friend, so they knew each other more than simply as the agent and his talent.
"Thank goodness for that. We're not in the early 90's when that was part of the rock n roll lifestyle." No doubt it was easier to hide DUI arrests then, at a time when social media wouldn't post the news mere seconds after the fact with tons of people commenting it from there. He could take some drunken moments but Zach would have no tolerance for an artist who was an addict. This was not cool anymore, had long ceased to be.
He maaged to restrain the roll of eyes. It had to be expected of Dom. When he mentioned he needed to get out more however, it proved a little harder. "I'll be happy to give you some of my work to free myself," he suggested. It was in jest of course. He had different ways than his to have fun and it sometimes clashed but rarely more than what was happening now. It was why they were friends.
"Wanting and being able to are two different things. Who did you ask it to?" They might have said yes but Zach would have to call their agent and see how much they would ask for it.

Dom knew when to be serious and he was when it was about his musical projects. He had grand ideas and he knew that some of them might be crazy but he liked the idea of having collabs with other artists. It would be hard for Zach to get that idea out of his mind if he ever tried to do so! He was determined to deal with the other artists and have a fair one.
He nodded a bit and hoped that Zach would loosen up a bit. He wanted to enjoy his chat of business. Nothing would stop him from doing so while drinking no? Even if Zach could possibly do this he still wanted to enjoy himself.
He grimaced at the idea of doing the job that Zach was doing. He was not into paperwork or good at it. “I’ll let you have that job.” He said.
“Big Time Rush, Casey Williams and Eleanor Bates.” He said enumerating the people. “I got a few other bands too so I’ll be able to have a full album with them.” He was pretty sure that it would sell too and he would make sure to have their time to shine.

Zach knew how hard it was to change Dom's mind once it was set on something. In a way, it was why he was where he was today. He never gave up no matter what others told him. Zach was ready to help his plans cmoe true, he'll get his percentage out of it anyway. He might be his friend but it was his job, he was not going to work for free. He wouldn't spend so much time in his office if that were the case.
Zach wasn't so much into beer but they served wine and he didn't find it totally awful, so it would be fine. He was sipping on his glass when Dom argued he left all that part of the job to him. "This is why they created agents, so artists don't have to focus too much on those aspects of the business," he reminded him. Not to add that Dom was not his only client.
Of course, of all the names he gave him, he worked for none of them. While he wanted to ask when and how he managed to ask all these people if they were interested, he frowned at the last name. "Eleanor Bates?" Damn, will he stop hearing of her? Sure, she was very talented but he just remembered his encounter with Lindsey, how she barged in his office. He still had a vivid image of her. He pushed that aside, but not far enough not to add "Why everyone's talking to me about her these days?"

Dom was glad that they created the agents’ job. Sure, you might not hear of them but they were who were doing the hard work. Sure, he knew how to do his own publicity stunts and what not but he didn’t like to think of all of the logistics and organization behind events and stuff of the like. He just enjoyed being there at the right moment and performing. That was his strength and nobody said anything against that.
“And what adds to you is that you’re my friend.” Zach was after all, the person who knew him since the longest time so he knew him well enough to know what he was interested into and if the projects would do well with him.
He blinked and looked at his friend though when he talked of Eleanor. He heard of her? Of course, who wouldn’t? She had those pipes! “Her pipes could match mine, who dibbed you in?” He asked curiously and suddenly more interested at what Zach was saying. “She’s still recovering but she hasn’t lost her talent.” He added. “I even finished writing that song and it’s waiting for her.”

Zach was often a little afraid of what Dom could have in mind. It was really strange to think these two became friends, seeing how different they were. Zach didn't think he was boring, he was just not as wild as his friend. He too could have fun, he just didn't get it by going to some loud bar and dance the night away. He was not speaking his mind as much but he was not shy either. He just had a quiet confidence while Dom was outspoken. He was also a lot more organized than he was. He was not jumping head first whenever he had an idea, he was more the kind to plan things all the way through. It may take him more time to do things but at least he had next to no obstacle in front of him, nor was he forced to give up or changed idea like Dom.
Maybe he should not have mentioned Eleanor but he didn't think it would backfire on him. Dom thought only about her voice, and it was true that she had quite a voice. He listened to her demo and her songs with her band, he knew that already. Dom of course was interested in how he got to know her and who talked of her to him before. But his question was pushed aside by his enthusiasm and need to point how much she inspired him by showing his song book. Zach was not as good with songs but he still took a look at it as he answered him. "Lindsey came to my office in hope I become her sister's agent for her solo career." He would have no way of telling how good the songs were, he was not a musician. He did understand what it meant though that Dom wrote a song for her. He would refuse to give it to another, not without a fight at least. "No pressure on me then, I just have to get her to sign in for this." Dom really need to be a little more realistic. Like that would be as easy as asking her if she wanted to record a song with him!

Dom might rarely be seen with someone like Zach and people often pointed out how it was funny that his best friend was so…his opposite but he liked it that way. After all, he had a bunch of good friends who knew how to have a good time like he did. He just needed someone to balance him out, not necessarily to be his boyfriend but a good friend he knew that he could rely to when needed and Zach happened to be that person to him. He might be a wild one but he needed his calm people even if he could count them on the fingers of his hand.
He almost chocked on his drink when he talked of Lindsey. Lucky guy! He knew that Lindsey had a crush on him, it was obvious and he wondered about why the hell Zach had yet done anything with her. All she was waiting for was for Zach to ask for her hand and she’d literally say yes. Poor girl, she’d have to wait for decades for that to happen. He then gathered the rest of the information. Wait, Eleanor wanted Zach as his agent? “Eleanor wants a solo career? She didn’t look like it when I talked to her…and you didn’t tell me you had Lindsey’s visit, did you kiss her already?” he asked patting Zach on the shoulder lightly.
He grinned at Zach, knowing that he was good with the paperwork and getting her agent to sing. “I’m sure it’ll work out well, we might just have to wait until she is better because she was still on a wheelchair and I don’t know if she will be ready for the stage yet.” He admitted. He didn’t know how much Zach knew about Eleanor but it would still give them time to organize it.

Zach looked at Dom, quite surprised at his reaction when he mentioned Lindsey. He was not dumb, he could tell she had her eyes set on him. He was not sure why, it wasn’t like he ever flirted with her or anything, but she felt something for him obviously. What it was exactly, if it was just an infatuation or real feelings, he couldn’t say for sure. He looked straight at Dom at his question about her. “Dom, it was a professional visit.” Oh, sure, she could have called any other agent or try to push it with the one Eleanor already had, but she came to him. Still, he was not the kind to mix pleasure and business. He was not going to flirt with her while she wanted his professional opinion.
Zach shook his head. “I think it’s more something Lindsey wishes for her sister. She didn’t even come from her part, she was taking a chance. And she told me she considered going on hiatus for a while, focus on other projects.” Maybe he shouldn’t tell Dom all of this. He was not discussing his other clients with him, at least not everything about them. He could not help bringing it out though, it did before he realised it.
Dom wanted to wait? Now that was a first. “A wheelchair doesn’t really matter in a recording studio,” he pointed out. But he mentioned the stage. “Don’t tell me you want to tour with her band?” That would be more than some little negotiation. This might already be compromised, should her agent know he had her demo tapes and considered whether or not she should have a solo career and if he should manage it. If he had to plan not just one collaboration but a whole tour...

Dominic frowned and almost had to restrain himself from facepalming. A professional visit?! It was only about that?! It was very disappointing and he wondered about if Zach ever had women in his lives, or men, for all he cared! But he hadn’t shown any sign to him and he worried that he’d turn like Noah and have a broom deep in his ass. Looks like he’d have to shake things up and hopefully a drink or two would loosen him up a little!
He was interested when he talked of Eleanor and Lindsey. They looked similar but were different in terms of personality. He just never thought he would find Eleanor’s type of personality attractive but he would keep that thought for himself, for now, he was more worried about Zach than his own love life. “Ah, I see.” He said referring to Lindsey. He couldn’t blame her, but he did like his lifestyle and didn’t think he would be able to do that himself.
“It doesn’t, I give you that, but she looked tired.” He pointed out. He was willing to let her go at her own rhythm which seemed to surprise Zach. He shook his head when he talked about a tour. “I didn’t think of that, I was more considering a live performance of the song, whenever it’s going to be ready.” He added. It would be big, with both of their voices. Eleanor had a voice that could actually match his and not a lot of artists could do that.

Zach relaly thought it was a professional visit that he got from Lindsey. She was not flirting, she did not try to learn more about him or suggest they should go on a date. At most was he thinking she tried to get some advice about her own career more than a push to her sister's, a confirmation that someone would back her up if she did the move she intended to make. Zach did his best to ignore Dom as he could see by his look that he had a whole other opinion on the matter.
Zach nodded. She had every right to be tired. It must be hard to get back up after the accident she had been through. She had to go through a lot to get back on tracks. "It's impressive she's already up for a performing, even a studio one." Sure, there was always a fear of becoming irrelevant if you aren't seen by people but she didn't strike him as one of those attention seeker.
"Live performance. You're at writing songs and you want a live performance? You don't even know if she'll agree to your song. Your two styles are not exactly the same." She did have a wonderful voice though that could fit just any style or so, and Dom had quite a powerful voice too. He wondered what that would be like together. But he was also an agent and had to think of it on a financial aspect too. It better work if Dom wanted to get collabs from people that would not be the first choice people would have at first. "I mean, I'm sure she'll be more affordable than BTR, so we can always try. I just hope Lindsey's visit will not cause trouble there." Dom did not bring it up but it was a concern of his. "If not, I could always get Lindsey instead. Some last song before she goes on a break or something." And she would owe him if her little trick cost him this collab.

Dominic wasn’t going to let it go that easily when it came to Lindsey but for now, Zach had managed to escape the talk since he was talking of Eleanor. He wanted to have that duet for sure and he would do it. The more he thought about it, the more he thought that their voices would be wonderful together and he bet he could let her have a blast with a guitar solo somewhere in his song. He was willing to let her creativity kick in when they’d practice. He was a little distracted when Zach admitted that it was impressive she came back for a practice. “I think I was lucky to catch them at the studio but I’m sure they’ll get back on track when she is doing better.” After all, she had a good audience and a specific fan base.
He knew she would agree to his songs, why else would she not? “I am willing to let her have a guitar solo, don’t worry about that, you’re here to do the rest.” He said waving his arm. He didn’t mean to be rude to Zach, they were friends after all but he knew that music wasn’t necessarily Zach’s talent, not like his.
“BTR have more fame because of their genre but I like that about them.” Sure, he did write pop music too but it was nice to know that some bands like to stand out of the lot like Eleanor. He couldn’t help but smirked at Zach when he talked of Lindsey. “She’ll say yes to anything you ask.” He added implying other things that he might want to do with her.

Zach was not as musically talented as Dom. It was not his strength or the reason he was here. If Dom thought his voice could mix very well with Eleanor's, he had to believe him, even if their musical styles were so different. Zach was mostly afraid that people would think it was too different, not understand this collab and not want to listen. He didn't want to waste money on this, but he knew Dom enough to know the guy could be stubborn enough to record his song anyway. Zach didn't have much of a choice to deliver here.
"Is that when you decided you had to sing a song with her?" Zach looked at his friend. He seemed pretty fixated on this, and knowing him, he could guess where this could lead. Hell, they way he said it, it sounded more like he wrote a song for her rather than one to sing with her. "Just try not to cause a scandal or rumours of her band breaking up when you'll sleep with her after." He didn't need to deal with that or end up with rock n roll also going for the diss track trend.
"It's also a bit more your style," he pointed out, unless Dom wanted to change style. You just never knew with him. He didn't mention Lindsey to bring her back in the conversation and stared at Dom in a patronizing way at his comment. "Please, I don't have that much power over her."

Honestly, Dom didn’t expect to have a muse strike the moment he had heard Eleanor but he had and while it wasn’t the first time someone inspired she was different. He didn’t want to push her to do anything when she wasn’t ready but he would get that collaboration with her. He was determined to have it done and he would get it.
He almost chocked when Zach implied that he wanted to sleep with her. He had to object though; it wasn’t like that. He didn’t want to sleep with her. It was different but he wasn’t sure what to do about it anyways. He just met her once and while he wasn’t new to one nights, he didn’t feel like doing that to Eleanor. She looked too…innocent for that. “You think I want to sleep with her? I don’t want to have Lindsey on my back.” He knew she was very proud of her sister and she had the right to be, just as he was of Audrey.
“It might be and I plan on having an album of collabs so it’s a good idea.” He said giving it to Zach. Heck, he could even do one with his sister if he wanted! It could be fun. “You want to test that out?” he asked, wanting to give a payback to Zach for implying that he wanted to sleep with Eleanor.
